Aisling awoke to the comforting embrace of Chris's arms around her the following morning. Rolling over to face him, she heard a groan escape his lips. With a playful smile, she kissed his cheek and moved down to his neck, coaxing groans to transform into moans. "I've missed waking up like this."

He groaned, his eyes fluttering open as he nodded. "Me too, love." Brushing a strand of hair away from her face, he traced her features with his fingers. "I love you. I know we agreed no more apologies, but I am sorry, Aisling. I was frightened of having everything I'd ever wanted, and I ended up sabotaging myself. But that fear is gone now. I only want to be with you."

Her hand reached up to the nape of his neck, her touch gentle. "I know. I was waiting for you to come to that realization, Chris."

His brows furrowed in curiosity. "What do you mean?"

With a soft chuckle, she met his gaze. "You think I didn't notice? You think I didn't know you were scared? I was waiting for you to admit it to yourself so we could finally move forward." A playful squeal escaped her as he swiftly turned her beneath him, his intensity palpable.

"You're truly something else. I love you."

Nodding, Aisling tugged off her shirt. "Then show me."

His moan was a soft affirmation as he asked, "Are you sure?"

"Absolutely, Chris. Like I said, I've been waiting for this." The sound of his moan resonated in the air as he discarded his underwear and positioned himself between her legs. His movements were unhurried as he entered her.

"God, how I missed you." His lips found the curve of her neck, and she intertwined her fingers in his hair. Their hands intertwined above her head as her legs wrapped around him, deepening their connection.

"I missed you just as much," she acknowledged. "And bring those lips up here." A fervent moan escaped him as his mouth met hers. Parting her lips, she welcomed his probing tongue, their slow kiss deepening their intimacy.

He moaned softly, his lips brushing her neck as he confessed, "It's been too long, love."

The truth of his words resonated within her, and she moaned in agreement. "I know. It's been aching for you too." His soft grunt transformed into a passionate kiss on her neck, his grip on her waist tightening as her arms encircled his neck. Whimpering, she urged him on. "Don't stop," she pleaded, her voice a desperate plea that he answered with a moan before they found release together.

He panted, lying on his back beside her, their breaths mingling in the air. "I love you."

With a playful chuckle, she responded, "And I love you too."

"Now, at the risk of possibly annoying you, how about moving back in?"

Her laughter danced in the air. "Chris."

He sighed, rolling over to face her. "Had to give it a shot."

A knowing smile graced her lips. "I knew you would."

Aisling was sitting and reading quietly later in the day when she was startled by a knock on her apartment door. Surprised to find Shanna at the door, she asked, accusingly, "What are you doing here?"

She held up a bag in her hand with a smile, "I brought you ice cream."

Aisling hesitated before chuckling and moving to let her into the apartment, accepting the bag from her. "Okay."

Shanna sighed, turning back to Aisling in the kitchen. "I wanted to clean the slate and start over. I know you are working on moving forward with Chris."
