"Ok, he will live in the community house with the revival restraints on, so that he doesn't kill himself and you all will have designated times to visit him, how long can you last for Dream?" Technoblade was almost finished with the meeting. "Half a year if I can get really gruesome with it." Dream said. "And otherwise?" Technoblade facepalmed. "Four months max before I become unresponsive."

"We'll go with three and a half months, each of you will have equal time alone with him, as Dream requested. As for the rest of the time, it's free game." Technoblade wrapped up the meeting before heading off to his house.

"You sure this is a good idea mate?" Philza looked at his friend with concern in his eyes. "You know there isn't much true information on dragons left. It'll take you years to find something."

Technoblade closed a chest and stuffed some golden apples into a backpack. "I have to try. It would kill me to not even try to save a friend."

"Ok... just don't waste all the time you have left with him alright?" Philza gave a sad smile.

"I'll be back after the three months, if I don't find anything by then, well..." Technoblade looked up with determination. "I'll find something."

"Good luck mate." Philza watched him ride Carl into the distance before turning back towards the mainland, his job was to watch over Dream.

The first visitor to have alone time with Dream was Tommy, who was very confidently hesitating to open the door to Dream's room.

"You can do this big man, just talk to him, it'll be finnnee." Tommy was reaching for the door when it suddenly opened and of course, Dream was standing there. Which wasn't spooky at all.

"I've been listening to you mumble for nearly 13 and 1/2 minutes now, come in." Dream turned around and walked back into the dark room. Tommy followed obediently, surprisingly, he wasn't as scared of Dream as he thought he was, now that he was here he felt a little bit out of place, but that was all.

They took seats opposite each other with a coffee table in-between. Tommy looked around the room, which was easier now that his eyes had adjusted to the dark. There were obsidian type curtains over the singular window to the outside, there were little to no light sources in the room, except for a singular small lamp which stood beside them on the coffee table, which gave a pitiful amount of lighting to the room they were in. There were two couches facing each other and a small bed in the corner that looked like it was barely enough to fit someone Dream's height. Other than that the room was basically bare.

"Chess?" Dream asked, pulling out a chess board that was integrated with the coffee table and chess pieces that were inside it.

"I never learned how to play." Tommy said, he would be a pitiful match against Dream.

"Nonsense. You don't live with Technoblade for a month and not learn to play chess." Dream said dryly while setting up the chess board. Tommy had noticed that about Dream when he wasn't acting, he always spoke dryly and had very few ups and downs in his voice, only using it to emphasize a point, never naturally in regular conversation, not that he had much of that with the Big D. He was also surprised by Dream's deduction. Well not really his deduction but rather his reaction to it, which he was surprised to realize that he was not surprised at all that Dream knew that he knew how to play and when he learned it, he thinks.

So Tommy starts setting up his side of the board, he's white, Dream is black. They start by shaking hands. Dream completely dominates the board, taking pieces left and right intricate traps hidden behind more obvious ones, and the game ended with Dream having lost only 3 pawns and his two bishops and Tommy without a piece to his name.

They sit in silence for a long while, Tommy attempted to break it once or twice but backed off when he saw Dream's pensive look.

After around 15 minutes, Dream speaks.

"You're rash, although you are improving. You are starting to be considerate of others and their emotions." He paused to sigh. "But you're still inexperienced, though that is expected from someone who doesn't have experience, I wish I could help you with that, but there is little I can improve with so little time. Take this to heart child, you have the materials to make something truly grand, a great version of you, but you need to make the best out of everything that you have. Accentuate your strengths and work on your weaknesses and you will be a great you."

Tommy absorbed what Dream said, because he knew that he said it to improve him, and he thought on it for a bit before responding. "You can be a better you too." He looked toward Dream with pleading eyes, he thought that maybe he could give Dream some motivation to live, some reason.

"I cannot focus on myself when I don't matter, I will die child, and that is fine. It is what is meant to be, you will live, and that is also meant to be. So live child, and pay no mind to the dead other than what you can learn from them." Dream turned his back towards Tommy and started walking towards his bed. "Now leave." "Bu-" "Leave" Tommy sighed and left with dragging feet.

Once he was outside, he felt like he was in a different world from the one inside the room. It was so bright out here, and in there it was so dark. In his mind, Tommy decided to mark Dream as a man to be respected not only because of his power and his origins, but also his want to help others and willingness to sacrifice himself, albeit in a rather destructive manner. He started to truly look up to Dream, and as he left, he decided to live by improving himself as much as he can. Back in his room, Dream smiled, it was an empty one, but a smile nonetheless as he turned back towards the door and saw a shining star starting to grow.

He then extended his index finger and transformed into a claw before biting it into his shoulder. He shuddered and exhaled before removing it and walking over to Phil's room for some bandages that he wrapped around it.
