Grief

Grief is a funny emotion. Dream was half inclined to believe that is was a bundle of emotions lumped together and intertwined so thoroughly that whoever was in charge of designating emotions just gave up and called it grief.

What Dream can tell you with absolute certainty at this moment, was that he was experiencing this so called 'emotion'. Watching years worth of work and your entire life's purpose go up in flames will do that to you. So here, holding the hands of his two first friends, with tears dripping on to their lifeless and bloodied bodies, there was no doubt in his mind that this sight will be ingrained in his memories forever.

In front of him lay the SMP, his land, on fire and littered with corpses. To his left, a hole the size of  the prison was all that remained of Sam, a sentient creeper's explosion radius is determined by their achievements in life, and if the charred ashes of somewhere around 800 soldiers were any tell, then he had an eventful one.

Somewhere behind that seat hole were Ponk and Quackity's  bodies, surrounded by another few hundred corpses. It seems that they had relied on the forest surrounding them to take out as many soldiers as possible while they were hunted.

Callahan, that reticent one, was quite sneaky, and several areas around the SMP had bodies in spades due to his traps before he was cornered near the castle his body could be seen speared against the east wall through his heart.

Speaking of the castle, the most bloodshed occurred there, a great mountain was built out of the bodies that were piled there, Eret sat on his throne, overlooking the carnage, a regal look on his face as his wounds bled still, his blood covering his throne. He had bled out after winning a fight with two royal knights, whose bodies lay at the sides of the throne.

It seems that Fundy, Purpled, and Badboyhalo had met up in the center of the scene. They fought well together, if the many bodies that had stab wounds in the back were any indicator, but Dream knew that Bad had a chance of survival if he had left the other two and made out on his own.

But by far the biggest kill count had to go to the two that Dream held in his arms as he cried, surrounding them was such a pile of bodies that the soldiers had to climb up their fallen comrades for nearly 30 meters before climbing back down, only to face their deaths at the hands of the skilled mercenaries.

There was no happiness on this day, no tidings of joy or laughs running throughout the SMP, just blasted silence and death.

All that potential that he had tried to cultivate, gone, just like that.
