Now, if anyone had any doubts as to what will happen next, they were swiftly quashed by a feeling of burning that originated from inside their bodies and gradually crawled out of their orifices if the form of their sublimated organs. It was exceedingly painful to all those who were cursed with this fate, as they were given a perfect premonition of their death before it happened. Allowing them to feel each agonizing second. Both results were the doing of Dream, who, after feeling anger for the first time in years, was battling against letting it consume him, which disallowed any feelings of savoring their deaths and was channeled toward the instinct to burn.
Ironic then, that there was no actual fire in this event that will come to be known as the disappearance. He simply created heat so hot, that everything was instantly disintegrated.
Dream had few rational thoughts at the time, as he was, as previously stated, fighting against letting his anger control him. So allow me to bring to attention the feelings and thoughts of his three companions, who's overall emotions pointed to joy.
Drista was cackling, elated at the state of her brother while watching the chaos around her that was people feeling the pain of death before it came for them. 'They deserve it.' She thought. 'Even if they were just bystanders, this country will not survive.'
Philza was slightly more worried about Dream than his sister, he had never seen him give any indication of true emotion. He acted, yes, but now that he knew that it was an act, he began to see through his deceptions. This, however, could not be an act, all rationale pointed him in to this conclusion. Thusly, he was similarly overcome with happiness before he realized the price of Dream's anger. The lives of a whole capital. Expensive without a doubt, the sobering realization gave him pause.
Technoblade, however, was washed over the satisfaction of a job completed. Because his job was completed, and everything went according to plan.

A little over a month ago.
After Technoblade left, he found the information he was looking for within a week. Too short, he was immediately suspicious. Surely Dream had found this same information, unless he didn't care about it. Only a few people in the world would classify information gained from killing grand magicians as easily obtained, but both Technoblade and Dream were part of that group.
He read the book he had stolen from a passing grand magician he killed again. It was in this book that the research done on Dream's sister was compiled, as well as the solution to his current plight. It was in this book that the line, "a significant stimulation that requires the lost emotion as a response", caught his eye.
It wasn't this line that provided him with the solution to the mystery of why Dream didn't already have this information. However, it did provide him with a course of action. So he planned, and he planned for a full week to make sure that Dream would be saved.
You see, Dream was aware of the information as of how his emotions could be restored. He simply deemed a waste of time because of the cost and the fact that he had lost all of his emotions, which made the cost even higher, a shock that significant could not be planned by him, because it must be a shock, and he, who had no emotions, found it difficult to form attachments that could provide him that shock. So he found it was a better use of his time to help out these talented people he found. What drove him off even more was the fact that the price of regaining an emotion made him more susceptible to it for a time until he got used to it again, it was very likely that him regaining an emotion could cause untold destruction until he was capable of understanding it. Technoblade missed this one detail, because he thought that if Dream were emotionless, then he wouldn't care about the cost of his gaining an emotion back.
Back to Technoblade in this moment. He had finalized his plan, and decided his first course of action would be to allow Dream's sister to escape. Relatively easy, just kill a few grand magicians, easy.
The next part was about as hard as he expected, earning the ire of a whole nation requires an exorbitant amount of propaganda and/or atrocities. Both of which he committed much resources to.
The timing was the hardest part, staying away from capture and making sure his execution was at the same time that Drista escaped was difficult to say the least. But he managed, getting loyal tools into the higher ups of the nation was not too hard for him. Slipping them messages was even easier.
It all culminated in this moment where he watched as Dream went berserk with glee. He would not lose a friend like this, but the plan wasn't done yet. He had one more surprise waiting for Dream, though it pained him to hurt Dream's friends, he had spared some of the better ones, and as long as one of the very few who he considered friends was safe, he would destroy the world. Excluding, of course, his other friends.
He had orchestrated an attack on Dream's domain, which would end in the deaths of more than a few of the SMP members.
