Nolan's P.O.V.

Oscar and I both padded away my heart was racing from that kiss. "Nolan, will we be able to leave town without any trouble?" He asked and I nodded. "Oh yea, they only pay attention to who gets in, I haven't had any issues leaving yet," I answered as we padded out. Once we got out I suddenly felt my heart sink as the beach was full of Vaporeons. "Oh, great my Dad is still looking for me." Oscar looked nervous. "Yup, He was very pissed off when you left this morning, he took his anger out on me." I felt disappointed because I knew very well my father has it out for him. I began to sneak towards the water without being seen but then one Vaporeon in particular gets in the way. "Going somewhere? future chief?"
I feel alarmed as I make eye contact with her.
"Uh. Hi, Nessa didn't see you there." I say nervously. "So what's in town that keeps taking you away from us?" she asked bitterly. "You are aware I have two brothers right?." I replied feeling annoyed. "Nessa please don't turn me in!" I begged. Then paw steps sounded behind me before she could say anything. "Umm, Nolan, do you know this guy?" Oscar asked. feeling puzzled I turned around then felt alarmed seeing it was that same troublesome Espeon who I'd seen only a few times. "Yes he does," He replied in a steady tone. "Well, well this wild Vaporeon is your future eh?" Nessa looked confused and slightly embarrassed. "Umm. Who are you?" The Espeon ignored her and stared at me intently with an icy gaze. "We had a deal, remember?" my mind panicked as I was trying to remember.
"Umm, what was it again?"
"The one where you promised that if I helped you, you would stay out of town!" he growled then looked at the beach towards the Vaporeons. "Why are you hiding from your fishy tribe?"
"That's none of your business!" I snapped.
"Well, I think it is! Sounds like you wanted back home just as badly as your wanted out of town!"
"Gagh! Why do you care so much anyway? What have I ever done to you?!"
"Because you don't belong there! You're a wild mon! A filthy outsider!" Without further ado, he used his psychic power to lift me and throw me out into the open where all the Vaporeons could see me. "Nolan?" One asked in surprise as I hit the sand causing it to spry up, now everyone was looking at me in confusion as if trying to see where I came from and who threw me.
Ripple ran over towards me looking angrier than a Gyarados that's been provoked. "And where have you been?!" He demanded. I looked over towards Oscar to see that the Espeon was gone now. 'Must of ran for it.. cowered.' I couldn't help thinking bitterly. "What are you looking at? ANSWER ME!!"
"I was in town obviously!" I shot back.
He kicked sand at me causing him to cough. "Hack hack, blah!"
"Don't give me that tone! I'm getting tired of this! You spend way too much time in that-" He paused to look toward the town gates. "Gahh it sickens me! You're the future of this tribe! Do you not understand that?! All these Vaporeons here are supposed to look up to you!" now I felt really hot with embarrassment seeing that everyone was watching and listening to this conversation.
"What is your reason?" He questioned me.
"Well?, I want to know!" he demanded. I sat up. "Because I like spending time with my brothers." he held my gaze. "Hmmm, I'm not buying it! The last time I checked you ran away from them because they were awful!" I held his intense purple stare feeling a bit more guilty as I was trying to stand my ground.
'Wait, Is it my fault he hates them?'
then he went on.
"They treated you horribly because they got jealous of you! But you showed them you wouldn't tolerate them!"
"Well, It's not like that anymore. We made up now."
"Why though?" I stared at him dumbfounded lost for words. "Umm, because they are family and-"
"They bullied you!" he reached his paw out towards my left fin where there was a V-shaped tear in it. "This is what those brats did to you! Why did you ever care to make up with them? Did they even say sorry?" he pressed. I nodded slowly. Then he snorted "Those two have a lot of nerve defying me the way that they did! Not only did they reject the tribe but picked on my successor! I don't want you to go near those two ever again! Is that clear?!"
"RIPPEL!" Murray shouted out in rage as she came barging through the crowd. "We need to talk." I felt stiff with fear my mother looked very upset, I felt my heart pounding in my chest, and she sounded serious. Ripple eyed her suspiciously. "Ok fine as soon as we get home. We can talk." He didn't sound worried or showed that he cared and I saw pain reflect in my mother's eyes seeing his reaction to this talk of hers. Then he turned toward me with a strict look on his face. "You are coming home right now." panic surged through me as I realize. 'Oh no, Vera! We have a date planned I can't miss it!'
"Dad, please! I have something planned I can't go home now!"
He raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?, something planned with those two bullies?" he challenged and I stared at him dumbfounded
not sure how to answer as I felt embarrassed now. "Ripple! Let him-"
"BE QUIET!" he snapped at Murray cutting her off. Everyone in the group gasped seeing how hostile he got with his mate in front of them all like that. Murray stared at him pain flashed her blue gaze then she turned tail and darted for the water. I tried to slip past my father but he grabbed me. "Oh, you're grounded all right! I want you to stay home for at least a week!"
"What?! But that's not fair! What did I even do?"
He whipped his tail fin at me.
"Oww!" I shrieked as it hit me. "You know very well what you did! I asked one thing from you but you keep running off to see those two and it's getting out of paw!" I glowered at him.
"That's because you're being too controlling! I'm a bit old to be grounded! I should be allowed to go wherever I want!" I froze as I saw that angry look on his face his eyes were now blazing with fury. "Nolan, you are 16 I do have the authority to ground you until you are 18! When I see you take things more seriously then I'll give you all the space you want." then he turned toward the water. "We are going home now," he ordered and I had no choice but to follow. My head hung low with disappointment as my tail was dragged to the ground behind me. Why does my father have to humiliate me like this? I cautiously look back over my shoulder to see Oscar running to catch up but I wasn't looking for him, my blue gaze was set on the distance where I saw that Espeon last. 'I sure hope that guy wasn't eavesdropping, that'd be by far the most humiliating thing that's ever happened to me.'
I found myself letting out a growl as I thought of him I don't even know his name and yet we have become rivals.
'That guy has something out for me and I'm gonna find out what! You want to play bud, sure I'll play your game'
I thought glumly to myself.
