Nolan's P.O.V.

I couldn't stop fidgeting in my sleep as I kept thinking about Zane Imaging the Jolteon getting jumped from behind by the mysterious Mon in the black cloak. My eyes snapped back open I was in a cold sweat. It has been two days now since I've last seen Vera. I sat up in my bedding. I couldn't stop thinking about her. Wondering if she was ok or if anyone else got hurt. I bit my lower lip I didn't like feeling like I was trapped with the tribe.
What if something happened to her? I need to make sure she's ok!
It was driving me mad that I couldn't go check on her and it made me anxious that she wasn't coming here either. I glanced outside my room it was still very late and I knew sneaking out at this hour would only extend my punishment.
But that's only if I get caught.
I got out of bed and made my way to the cave exit. I took one last look around to make sure no Mon had seen me before sneaking outside.
Once I reached the shore it felt great to feel the soft sand under my paws. I scanned the beach and didn't see any Sandygast. I waved through the shallow water and ran across the beach heading for town. Once I reached the town gates I paused before entering. I got the feeling I was being watched. I looked over my shoulder back towards the beach to see the outline of a Leafeon under the moonlight.
Harvey? What's he doing up at this hour?
I shrugged it off and made my way towards Vera's house wanting to see her. I had to admit to myself I did miss visiting the town and having coffee in the morning with them. I frowned.
What am I thinking? I'm a wild Mon, not a townie!
It was still dark outside by the time I reached her house and I knew very well the front door would be locked. As I made my way around her house I froze and sniffed the air there was someone else there. I let out a growl as I spotted a Espeon looking up at Vera's bedroom window. He hadn't spotted me as I approached him. "What are you doing here?" I asked in a hostile tone. He jumped in surprise and then pinned his ears back giving me a cold stare. This only angered me further.
If it's a fight he wants one he'll get!
"I can read your thoughts." He said looking amused as he went on. "Did you come here to cause harm? You are a wild Mon after all." I unsheathed my claws and moved closer to him I wanted to make it very clear that I wasn't afraid of him. "No, but mind if I ask what you're doing?" He looked offended by the question. "Vera is a townie, not a wild Mon."
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, and your point is?"
"She should be with me! Not a wild Mon such as yourself!"
"Solstice, that doesn't excuse you trespassing!" I hissed. "I'm not the one trespassing you are! You don't belong in town and she doesn't belong in the wild!"
"And you don't belong in her yard!" I snapped back. He grunted with annoyance and began stalking back toward his house. I gritted my teeth I never got an answer to his creeping around. "Listen you creep if you ever do anything to Vera I'll-" I didn't finish as my paws suddenly left the ground. The Espeon was staring at me with a cold glare. "No, you listen here you filthy wild Mon! You don't belong in town and if you don't stop returning I'll find a way to keep you out for good!" He threatened. I got mad and suddenly hit him with an ice beam attack. He let go as he stumbled backwards and fell then got back up but to my surprise he didn't fight back instead he ran back to his house. "Cowered," I muttered under my breath. I was certain that he was the murderer who attacked me that night.
I'll find a way to expose you before you hurt anyone else!
I made my way back to the front door and knocked.
Shade was the one who answered. "Nolan, I thought you were grounded?" He asked. I nodded. "I'm sorry to hear about what happened to Zane." His expression was blank as he just kept staring at me. "Walk with me." He said stepping outside and locking the door behind him. My heart sank I kind of just wanted to see my girlfriend before the sun would start to peek. I followed him down the road. "It's very early you know." He said in a calm voice. "I know I guess I just couldn't help myself after hearing about another attack I had to come and make sure—" I broke off catching an unsettling look as Shade's red menacing stare bore into me. "Do you think I'm incapable of protecting my sister?" I frowned and shook my head. "Not at all." I began to get an eerie feeling as we entered the park where it was very quiet. Shade suddenly turned on me. "I can't believe you let your father manipulate my sister! Or was it part of the plan?" I stared at him dumbfounded lost for words. He hissed standing right in front of me his bored shoulders hunched like he wanted to hurt me. I brushed the ground with my paw I didn't know what to say. "I never wanted her to join the tribe that was my father who—"
"That's no excuse!" He interrupts. "You listen and you better listen good!" I swallowed nervously as he went on. "My sister is a townie and she doesn't belong with your kind in the wild. It isn't right of you to manipulate her or even allow your father to!" I could only stare at him in silence. I slowly nodded my head. "I want to like you, Nolan but so far I only hear bad things about you. Please be a better boyfriend to my sister." I nodded my head. "Of course, I will be." He gave me a serious look. "Good, now I better not hear any more stories about you or Ripple. As her older brother, I will do anything and everything to protect her I hope you understand that." I nodded. He turned away from me. "We're done here I suggest you head home now." I watched as he padded away. I frowned did Shade not like me?
