FOUR BOYS, ONE GIRL AND 1 CRAZY HIGH SCHOOL YEAR
CHAPTER 40

I pursed my lips as my hands hovered over the keys of my laptop. Writing college applications and preparing portfolios – well, writing this late – was stressful and boring.
"Do you think maybe if I tweak my application a little, it'll give me a better chance at getting in?" I turned and asked Easy who was lounging on his bed and reading another book.
My boyfriend—okay he probably wasn't but who cared. I mean think about it, he'd clearly confessed his undying love for me. And when I told Ethan and Rori – even though I swore I won't tell anyone... I couldn't help it, they snuffed it outta me – about what went down in the music room, they'd said things like; "wouldn't it be weird if noises were coming from your room?" and "so are you guys gonna be having make-out sessions like everyday now?" and "you could totally fake being gay and shag every two minutes (wink, wink)". It was weird, yes, but sometimes I kinda considered the last one.
And when I thought about it, Easy'd been (surprisingly) nicer to me these days. Like he'd done all this weird cute things like smile at me... a lot, or wave whenever we saw as some sort of acknowledgement and argue with me much more less. So, what's a damn girl supposed to think? He was my boyfriend. Whether he knew it or not.
"What kind of idiot writes her college applications now?" Easy sat up, interrupting my thoughts and looking at me with a raised brow. "Freshman, we're almost graduating. People – normal, sensible people – usually start sending in their applications and portfolios to colleges early senior year—hell, even junior year." He was still looking at me in disbelief. "And I don't think 'tweaking' is allowed you looser."
See? Less insults. I shrugged and went back to typing. "This thing is stressful. Plus, I wanna get into college – so 'tweaking' should be considered."
Easy laughed and shook his head. "You're something else Callie Donovan."
"What about you? Gotten in your college applications yet?" I asked, casting him a sideways glance as I continued typing.
Easy was silent for a while before he cleared his throat, "I'm going to Yale."
My hand paused again over keys. "What?" I turned to face him now.
Easy sat up, a small smirk spreading across his lips – although, it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Yeah, sent in my application a few months ago—haven't gotten my acceptance letter yet though. But you know, its 100% guaranteed – with my parents and their... connections. And, I'm actually kind of smart." He said the last part with pride.
Yeah... but Yale. "So, after grads it's off to Connecticut huh?"
"You know, I'm not even going to stay for graduation. Once I get the letter – or a call from my dad, whichever comes first, I'm off to Connecticut. So I can get used to the place and stuff, scan the area, all that shit."
"But Yale's really far away..." I voiced my thoughts out loud, biting down on my lip.
Easy smiled at me this time. "Says the girl who's going all the way to New York."
I frowned. "Well, if I knew you were going to Yale..."
"Yeah right. Like I'd want you stalking me all my life," he rolled his eyes in a joking manner.
I seriously didn't mind that. "Hey! Like you didn't love having me as your roommate for a year. Let's face it; I'm the damned best thing that's ever happened to your dry boring life."
