CHAPTER 14

"Wake up and kick Vernon!" The coach screamed at me.
It had been two weeks since the vacation was over and I was really starting to regret the fact that I didn't consider that migrating idea.
Bam!
"Quit being a girl! Get up and fight Vernon!"
"Ow..."
...
TWO HOURS EARLIER
"What's self-defense?" I asked Ethan as we walked out of AP chemistry.
He gasped dramatically and snatched the schedule slip from me. "We have that today? Why didn't you tell me?"
I shrugged, "I didn't know."I said, collecting the paper. "I don't even know what that is."
"All you need to know is you're going to hate it." Easy commented, falling into step with me.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"It's a self-defense class dummy. We're thought how to hurt people in that class."
"Oh, you mean like kicking-ass?" I asked, intrigued.
"Yup," He replied lazily.
"I don't think it's that bad, maybe I could learn to kick your ass."
Easy chuckled. "Yeah right. If I were you, I'd go back to the dorm and hide." He said, before walking away.
"I don't think it's that bad Ethan." I laughed at the boy shivering at my side.
"Not bad?! You're right Carl, it's horrible." He screamed.
"Fine," I raised my hand in defeat.
"Don't you know what they say?"
"What?"
"Self-defense is for women, this is basically hand-to-hand combat."
"So you mean that punching stuff?" I said, now terrified.
"Exactly,"
"Oh."
...
Ethan was not kidding when he'd said this class was horrible. Unfortunately, it'd been a compulsory and all the boys were training in corners getting ready to kill their opponents.
"How can this happen?" I whispered furiously to Ethan. "Don't we already have enough torture in gym?"
"Sweetie, these boys are Martians. They play in gym and kill each other in self-defense class." He replied, glancing around. "I don't like either of them so I'm ditching and going with my amazing plan of escape."
"What plan?"
"I'll fake sickness, duh." He whispered; an obvious tone in his voice. "Rori's already escaped, I'm going to join him. Later Carl and good luck." He whispered in encouragement, before clutching his stomach and walking to the direction of the nurse.
Wait, take me with you. Way to abandon me here alone to die. You think you know somebody.
"Hey Carl," Liam waved to me, looking hot in his outfit if I don't say so myself.
"Hey," I grinned. "So, you're taking self-defense too?" Of course he was idiot, it was a compulsory class.
"Yup, I mean it's not like we have a choice right?" He shrugged.
