CHAPTER 31

So, with my newfound feelings for my roommate, I started noticing things I didn't notice – or just didn't let myself see before. Had he always read before he slept every night? Did his black hair always fall into his eyes? Had he always had that slight cut on his wrist? – wonder why that was there. Had he always had those cute slight dimples when he smiled...? They were some many things I didn't know Easy had until this past few days. I guess it was true what they said; you don't see the beauty of things until you decide to take a second look. I also hadn't told Ethan and Rori; who I had been avoiding 'cause I needed to get my thoughts together. So you can imagine how startled I was when they attacked me during lunch period.
"We gotta talk Carl." Ethan dragged me from my cafeteria seat and out the doors.
"Ow," I rubbed my wrists – I didn't know they had that much physical strength. "What's up with you guys?"
"You tell us." Rori began, "Ever since the park, we haven't seen you. You didn't even come and say bye to Kennan –"
"Who's number I totally got by the way." Ethan cut him off, grinning.
I grinned at him but Rori shoved him. "You're not supposed to smile, we're mad at her remember?" He whispered to him.
I had to hold in my laugh – even when mad at me; I knew they still loved me.
"Oh right." Ethan nodded and frowned at me. "So what's with you Carl?"
"You guys, it's nothing." I lied. "It's just... I've been trying to gather my thoughts lately. And I love you guys and all – you know I do, but I just wanted to do it alone." I shuffled my feet.
They raised their brows at me. I totally forgot how stubborn this two can be. "You're lying." Ethan said obviously.
My mouth went agape – I have been spending way too much time with this boys. "I am not." I scoffed and shuffled my feet again.
"Yes you are," he rolled his eyes. "Besides, thoughts about what?" Ethan stared at me suspiciously.
I contemplated on telling them, but I couldn't – I wasn't even sure I like Easy...hell who was I kidding, I did. But I couldn't still tell Ethan and Rori. They'd act weird if I did.
So, I just stood in silence – hoping they'd get tired and leave. They looked at each other and looked back at me, their brows raised. "Really?" Ethan placed his hands akimbo. "You really think you can do that?" he smiled at me.
I shunned them and looked somewhere else.
"Sweetie, we could do this forever." Rori said folding his arms with an amused smile.
Damn, I knew I couldn't win them on this – I'd get tired eventually and I'd have to tell them whether I like it or not. "Fine." I grunted and folded my arms gruffly. "It's just... I realized that I no longer..." I trailed off, thinking of the perfect lie. "...I'm no longer interested in Liam."
They looked at each other and then back at me. "You're lying." They both said in unison.
Shit was this planned? I think they have telepathy or something. Besides, I wasn't lying, I just didn't tell them the other half of it. "I'm not. It's true, I no longer have a thing for Liam." I shuffled my feet and looked somewhere else.
"Wait!" Ethan said abruptly. "I know that move, I know that stunt – you did it the first time we met you, and you did it the first time you told us you had a thing for Liam. The shuffle, the constant staring around and the nervousness radiating from you." He stared me right in the eye and I froze. "Oh. My. God. The new guy's Easy isn't it?"
