The last one to choose Dauntless was a boy from Erudite. Six people after him the ceremony came to an end. One moment they were listening to the final speeches, saying faction before blood, and then the next they were beginning to stand. Kristian was urged out of her seat and she quickly got lost in the crowd of Dauntless pushing their way out. Despite being shoved towards the doors she managed to turn around and see her parents through the gaps.

Her father didn't look disappointed, he didn't seem surprised, but instead he just looked angry. From the distance the girl could feel his eyes tearing through her soul. Her heart jerked as she saw him look away with disappointment. Her mother though didn't seem anything like her father, instead she looked like she was going to cry from how the light hit her eyes. Her lips moved as she waved her daughter goodbye, but Kristian couldn't see what she was trying to say before being pushed through into the hall.

The Dauntless screamed and whooped, their cheers filled the hallways as they began to run down the stairs. Kristian looked over the railings to see some jumping off at the second or third floor to the middle, while others were sliding on the rail. Even the ones now making it outside could hear their laughter echo off of the walls.

Kristian's feet hit the final step and with just a few strides she found herself outside. They all began to run, the girl quickly followed as she found herself sprinting trying to keep up, but she found it rather difficult to do in such a long skirt. The Dauntless-borns screamed even louder, some crashing into people in the streets or shoving them out of the way.

Kristian was oddly amazed with how reckless they were.

The girl watched as they blocked a bus after a few blocks, and eventually she found herself towards the front of the tiny group of transfers. Her eyes snapped around, she could count two Amity transfers, five Erudite and four Candor. The other transfers had mixed faces. Some looked confused while others looked oddly excited. Kristian's eyes landed on an Erudite keeping up with her and she held back a grin from the sight of his glasses slipping down his nose. The brownish-headed boy looked at her before realizing what was happening and he quickly slid them back up.

There was inaudible shouting, the person shouting was obviously out of breath but despite none of the transfers understanding it made sense as they saw all the Dauntless-borns suddenly begin to climb the pillars that led to the train tracks platform. The transfers froze and looked up, amazed at how easily some were climbing the pillars.

The Erudite Kristian was just looking at is the first to move, the boy takes a few steps back before throwing himself onto the yellow pillar and using all his might to climb to the next bar. A few looked at one another, others just went for it. The other Erudites move quickly, following the boy like a pack.

Kristian and Eaton looked at one another, but they quickly moved together without thinking. Kristian threw her weight onto the bars and began to climb, her fingers curling around each or any piece she can grab. There were only a few left climbing the pillars, and looking up the two could see some laughing and pointing at them.

    "Hurry up, Stiffs!"

    "Fall already!"

Kristian felt anger from their words, and it didn't cause her to mess up, it just seemed to make her try harder. Her fingers barely grazed the wooden platform and she immediately threw herself over it, rolling to her knees at some people's feet. Some began to walk away or simply turn the other way as Kristian leaned over the edge. Eaton was just a few feet down, struggling to climb.

"Come on!" she shouted at him, his eyes went wide, "don't stop!"

Kristian threw her hand out for him once he got close enough, and to both of their surprise he grabbed it and she helped him up. Eaton rushed to get safe on the platform but Kristian found herself staring. They were thirty feet in the air, the city streets were below them and even with this height the people below looked like ants the further along they went.
