"Why do you seem so down?" You asked with worried eyes as you stared at your girlfriend, your hand resting on her knee as she sat in silence.

You've been home for the last few minutes and since you got here, Jisoo has been so quiet.

She hasn't said even one word to you. You know something is wrong and you can't help but worry what it is.

"Jisoo? Talk to me, my love." You said and she looked at you, biting her lip for a second before releasing it.

"Y/N, this is hard for me to say." She spoke softly as she took your hand from your knee and put it on your own. "But I've been doing a lot of thinking and I feel like this isn't working anymore."

"What do you mean?" You asked as you stared at her in confusion.

"I think we should break up."

For a few seconds, you felt completely devastated. Hearing those words from the girl that you love more than anything in this world, the love of your life, was a hard pill to swallow.

But then you remembered a few months back when you pulled this prank on her.

Why she thought you'd fall for it? You didn't know.

But one thing you know for certain is that you and Jisoo are very much in love, ready to make that lifelong commitment whenever that day may come, and you know this is the very last thing she'd want to willingly do.

It was a prank. It had to be.

And there was no way you were falling for it again.

"Okay."

She was taken aback completely, gazing at you in disbelief.

"Did you just say... okay?"

"Yeah." You said. "Look, Jisoo, if I'm being totally honest I've been feeling the same way. I didn't know how to tell you so I haven't said until now but I agree that this just isn't working anymore. I think some time apart would be good for us."

"You can't be serious!"

"What? Jisoo, babe, calm down."

"No! I can't calm down." She said as she tangled her fingers in her hair with a groan. "This was a horrible idea!"

"What are you talking about?"

"A prank! That's all this was, y/n. Just a prank!" She said as she looked at you with teary eyes. "I didn't mean it. I don't actually want to break up. I never thought you'd want to break up, either."

"Jisoo," you sighed and put your hand over hers. "I don't know what to say."

She lowered her head in sadness.

"Except one thing... gotcha!"

"What?" She stared back up at you in disbelief yet again.

"I got you! I was pranking you too."

"Really? How'd you know I was pranking you?"

"Because I know how much you love me." You said as you put your arms around her neck, a smile on your face as you put your lips close to hers. "I know you wouldn't want to break up when we're in this for life together."

"That's very true." She said as she caressed your sides. "So, we're good?"

"Of course we are, baby. Always." You assured her before giving her a kiss.

When she pulled away, she put her head back against the sofa with a breath of relief.

"I say no more pranks for a long while. I learned my lesson after this."

You couldn't help but laugh and nod your head in agreement before putting your lips back on hers, perfectly fine with that idea.
