you're scared to throw up

Jisoo was knelt behind you, trying to hide the way her heart felt like it was breaking right in her chest with each and every whine and whimper that fell from your lips.

Beads of sweat rolled down your skin. You had a fever that had climbed pretty high over the last couple of hours and you had an agonizing stomach ache that wouldn't go away. Jisoo knew that you had a stomach bug and that eventually you'd get sick. What she didn't know was how strong your fear of vomiting was.

She moved her hand up and down your back comfortingly. She watched your shoulders shake as you almost threw up, almost. She didn't understand why you weren't just letting yourself be sick but she could tell that you were only making yourself feel worse.

"Y/n, you're just making it worse. Just let it out." She soothed only to watch you shake your head frantically. "I can't. I'm too scared." You felt her lips touch your shoulder. "You don't have to be scared. I know it's no fun, but I promise you that I'm right here with you. You're safe with me. Just let it all go so we can go back to bed and you can get some sleep."

You breathed out a shaky sigh and when you felt that all too familiar feeling, you didn't fight it. This time you did as Jisoo said and let your stomach empty itself. Even though you felt scared and you were trembling, you felt safe and comforted with Jisoo there by your side.

The whole time she whispered words of comfort into your ear and would press tiny kisses to your shoulder or the back of your neck until you finally finished just a few long, agonizing minutes later.

You closed the toilet lid and laid your forehead against the soft cushion. You closed your eyes and took a minute to catch your breath.

Jisoo reached around you and flushed the toilet. "Feeling any better?"

You weakly nodded in response. Jisoo stood up and got you some water. She placed the cup by your lips and you took a few sips before laying your head back down. Jisoo moved a hair that fell from your messy ponytail and tucked it behind your ear.

"Baby? Let's brush your teeth then get you back to bed."

You felt weak and shaky and your knees nearly gave out under you, but Jisoo was right there to catch you. She held you close as you brushed your teeth, paying extra attention to your tongue to get the revolting taste out of your mouth.

You rinsed your mouth out and dried your chin with a towel before turning around and laying your forehead against Jisoo's shoulder. "That was terrible." She simply nodded her head and kissed the crown of yours. "I know. But you're okay. I've got you. Now, let's go to bed. Maybe you'll feel better after you get some rest."

She helped you into the bedroom. You sat on the edge of the bed while Jisoo quickly looked through the closet for a clean shirt for you to wear since the one you had on was soaked with sweat.

She grabbed one of her blackpink ones and watched as you cracked a tiny smile as she held it up for you. You use the very little strength you had left to raise your arms up so she could help pull your old shirt off and slip the new one on.

You moved up to the pillows and pulled the blankets aside for Jisoo to climb into bed next to you. She was by your side in a heartbeat and her arm wrapped loosely across your stomach while she buried her face in the crook of your neck.

"Are you okay?"

You took a deep breath and then let it go. "Yeah, I think I'm okay."

"Good." She kissed your head. "But you do know I'm here if you need anything, right?" She watched you nod your head. "Get some sleep, baby."

"Thank you, Jisoo. For being here for me."

She smiled and let her own eyes close, feeling good now that she knows you're okay. "I'll always be here for you."
