she falls asleep on your lap

"You look so tired." You mumbled softly when Jisoo came out of the bathroom and fell into bed and right onto your lap.

She'd had a long busy day and she was tired, but she was still determined to spend tonight with you. She took a quick shower and brushed her teeth, thinking it'd help her feel better. But even you can see that she only looks even more tired than she did before.

"Really, darling. If you're too tired-"

"No," she sat up and pouted her lips. "I really wanna watch this with you. Between both of us being so busy these days, I feel like we haven't gotten a night in like this in a long time. I miss them and..." she paused and took ahold of your hand to intertwine your fingers while she stared deeply into your eyes. "I miss you."

"I miss you too." You squeezed her hand then brought it to your lips to give her knuckles a soft kiss. "If you're sure."

"I am." She nodded and laid back down on your lap. She yawned as the movie started but she was trying hard to not give in to how heavy her eyes were beginning to feel.

"Did you at least have a good day? I know you said it was busy but I at least hope it was good because you deserve it."

She looked up at you with that beautiful smile and you felt your heart begin to race.

"It was good, thank you. But I feel even better now that I'm home with you."

You didn't even notice that you were starting to run your fingers through her hair till she was giggling and trying to push your hands away. "Stop it. You'll make me fall asleep if you do that." She pouted but it faded away when you gave her a kiss.

"Sorry, it's just that your hair is so soft, and it's even softer after you wash it."

She let out a soft sigh and closed her eyes. She didn't want to give in to the sleepy feeling that's been lingering all through the day. But she wasn't even trying at this point. She just felt so relaxed. So happy and content.

"Sleepy?"

She nodded slowly. "Very. But I wanna stay awake with you. I wanna be with you."

"I know you do, honey. I want to spend time with you just as much. But you've been working hard lately and you're tired and that's okay. There'll be other days and nights to spend together. We'll work around things if we need to. I just want you to catch up on sleep for right now."

She knew she couldn't argue with you. You have good intentions. You love her and care about her and if she was in your shoes and it was you that was so sleepy, she'd be telling you the same thing.

She couldn't even argue with you if she wanted to. Her eyes were much too heavy to open. She felt exhausted.

"I love you. Stay right here with me. Don't let me go."

"I won't, Jisoo. I love you too. Now, sleep. You deserve it."

She nodded before she started to drift off to sleep, leaving you to turn on a different film so you could watch the same one together on another day when she felt better.

For now, all that mattered was her getting some much-needed and well-deserved sleep, and it made you feel even better knowing that she was comfortable enough to sleep right on your lap.
