Your heart began to hammer against your chest when you heard the sound of a car door closing just outside.
You lit the last candle on the table before picking up the bouquet of flowers that you got for Jisoo; her favorites.
"Jisoo!" You excitedly spoke.
She looked your way upon hearing the sound of your voice and her eyes lit up, only for the sparkle in yours to fade when you saw the girls walking in behind her.
"Oh. The girls are here."
Jisoo frowned at the tone of your voice.
You hadn't meant anything bad by it.
But you were just caught off guard and who could blame you when you and Jisoo had plans for a date night at home tonight; just the two of you.
"I thought it was just going to be us tonight." You said and the disappointment was evident in your voice.
"Be nice, y/n," Jisoo warned, making your heart sink in your chest. "We've had a long, tiring day. We were just going to spend some time together and hang out."
"Yeah, that's what we planned on doing too, Jisoo. Remember? Just us? For our date night?"
The girls went wide-eyed upon hearing you say that.
"Oh, no. We had no idea." Lisa said.
"We're so sorry, y/n. We'll go and let you have some quality time together!" Jennie grinned.
You felt so relieved that they were so understanding of the situation and didn't think anything else of it.
Because you're very close with them and the last thing you want is to make them feel bad or for them to think you don't want them around because that's the furthest thing from the truth.
But Jisoo wasn't so understanding about the situation and took all of you by surprise.
"Don't go. It's not a big deal. We'll just have a date night some other night."
"What?" You asked.
"Jisoo, that's not very fair to your girlfriend who went all out for tonight. Look at the candles and the flowers and the food smells amazing! She's excited about this!" Rosie said.
"Yeah, well, that makes one of us," Jisoo spoke under her breath, although you heard every word.
"Seriously, Jisoo? This was your idea! Remember? You're the one who wanted to do a date night in tonight."
"Yeah, well, I'm tired and changed my mind. All I want to do now is watch some tv and go to sleep soon!" She argued.
"Well, then, we'll do that together."
"But I want to hang out with the girls!" She said loudly.
You hung your head in sadness.
Never in the time you and Jisoo have been dating have you ever felt unwanted by her.
But right now, that's exactly how you feel; as if she doesn't want to be around you.
Usually, you'd be very understanding and give her some space and privacy. You wouldn't be unhappy with the girls being here. You'd enjoy spending some time with them, too.
But tonight is different.
She's promised you this date night for a week or two now and she told you that tonight would be the night you'd finally do just that; have a romantic night together.
"But I want to be with you!"
"Of course." Jisoo scoffed. "Of course you do. You always do. You're annoying like that!"
You were shocked to hear her say that.
And you weren't the only one.
So were the girls.
"You're so annoying. I want some time with my friends and you can't let me have that. I had a long day! Instead of making it better, you just find ways to make it worse!"
"Jisoo!" Jennie scolded. "Stop."
"I'm just telling the truth. You're the ones I want to hang out with tonight!"
"There'll be other nights to hang out. Right now, you should be with your girl." Rosie said as she and the girls gazed at her in disbelief over how she was acting.
"See? So annoying and so clingy that my friends don't even want to be around."
"Jisoo!" The girls said in unison, shaking their heads at her.
"Wait, let me get this straight. I'm annoying because I want to spend time with my girl? Something I don't get very often? I'm annoyed because I tried to make everything as special and as romantic as possible for our date night that you promised me? I'm annoying because I set up candles and bought your favorite flowers for you because I love you and thought you deserved them?"
She saw the tears in your eyes, as did the rest of the girls.
"Two weeks, Jisoo. That's how long you've been talking about having a date night. You got me all excited about it, only to tell me that you don't even want to do it? You don't want to spend time with me? Because I'm so annoying, right?"
"I didn't mean it-"
"Then why'd you say it?" You asked through your tears.
"I don't know. But it was stupid. I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you."
"No!" You yelled and stepped back as she stepped closer. "No, you said you want to hang out with the girls tonight? So why don't you? Why don't you all enjoy this nice dinner Jisoo and I were supposed to share? I don't want it anymore."
You began to walk up the steps as Jisoo sighed.
"Wait, y/n-"
"Leave me alone!" You yelled and slammed the bedroom door as she froze on the third step that she tried to climb to get to you in time.
She hung her head and cursed under her breath.
"Stupid." She mumbled.
"Yeah, well, we won't argue with you there," Lisa said. "That was mean, Jisoo."
"I know." She said as she sat on the stairs.
"You better make this better. Make it up to her." Jennie said as she and the girls walked out the door, closing it behind them.
Jisoo buried her head in her hands, wanting nothing more than what Jennie said she needed to do.
But she didn't even know where to start.
She hurt your feelings. She said things she shouldn't have. She fought with you in front of your friends, something you've never done before and something she never imagined you'd ever do.
She needed to make this better... she just wasn't sure how to.
