"Well, seeing as your friend has only been missing for a few hours, the sensible thing to do is to begin a search party." said the cop, clicking his pen and putting it away whilst shuffling all the pieces of paper he'd been writing on."We'll send out an official notice, and you guys can help get the public involved. After about 3 days, we will launch an official investigation."
"Thank you officer." mumbled Milly as we all stood up and left the room. That was officially the worst hour of my life.
As we walked out of the station we noticed our parents all gathered round outside their cars, including JB's who had got a call from the police earlier. JB's mum was crying her eyes out whilst his dad tried to stay strong, but you could see in his face how worried he was.
All of us rushed over to them and explained everything. Every little detail about the party, how much he drank, what the officers asked. When his mum had calmed down they thanked us for letting them know then decided they just wanted to go home. We all parted ways and for the whole journey back to my house, my parents and I didn't say a word.
I couldn't get my head around it. Where on earth could he be? Sighing to myself I pulled the covers off my body and sat up in bed. Glancing at the clock, I saw the time. 3:27am. My eyes were drooping, but there was no way I was getting to sleep. No matter how tired I was. I was too worried about everything that had happened tonight.
After grabbing myself a glass of water from the bathroom, I unlocked my phone and found a new text from Aston: 'Tay, I'm so worried :( I can't even THINK about going to sleep affer everything that's happened!! Tell me truthfully, do you think he's ok? xx' I sighed to myself as I thought of a reply. After 8 attempts I finally sent it; 'I don't know, A. We just have to wait and see, yeah? Nobody will rest until we find him. Come over to mine in the morning and we'll start discussing the search campaign? xx'
Awaiting Aston's reply, I began flicking through pictures on my phone - probably not the best idea in the world. It was full of pictures of everyone on holidays and days out, photos of JB pulling funny faces... photos of JB smiling... photos of JB laughing, joking... It just hurt me to think that he could be anywhere right now, and he could even be in a lot of pain...
Thankfully, Aston distracted me by texting me back: 'Yeah sure! Ori's gonna come too, see you then babes xx'
I threw my phone back onto the floor and settled back down into my bed. It was difficult, but 20 minutes later I finally fell asleep... But it appeared I continued to worry even when I'd closed my eyes.
