I didn't know what to do. I was so confused. What the hell was going on? I've just been told that my best friend is dead. Dead. Gone. Never coming back. Then I get a freaking TEXT MESSAGE from him?! This is too much. I collapsed to the floor, crying again. This was horrible.

Suddenly, Marvin barged through the door, blood pouring down the back of his head.

"Marv, what the hell?!" Oritsé ran over to him. "What happened?"

"Reesh, don't ask him that now! Get some bandages and clean him up!" Aston yelled as he helped me up. "Taylor, where's the first aid stuff?"

"It's in the bottom of the cupboard above the sink." I sobbed, wiping my eyes. At least I knew Marv was safe. Sort of.

Oritsé and Milly helped clean up Marvin's wound whilst Aston sat on the sofa trying to calm me down.

"Taylor, this is good news! If JB text us, then we know he's alive!" He tried to cheer me up.

"No, he could've died after it was sent." I mumbled. I didn't want to give myself false hope.

"And what's the chances of that?" He sighed. "Check when you got the text."

I took my phone out and opened my messages. The text from "JB" was received at 1:48am. I turned my phone to show Aston.

"It doesn't mean anything. The cops said they found his body this morning. And they identified it. He's gone. Just accept it. Please. It'll make everything easier." I shouted.

But I knew deep down that Aston believed JB was alive. There was this look in his eyes, this look of belief.

A look of determination.
