I stumbled through the front door, my mind was racing. Had Adam sent that note? No he couldn't have, why would he do that? I've never done anything wrong to him. Anyway, it can't be him. How does he know I'm 'letting someone slip away'? Wait... That's not even happening! ... Is it?

I contemplated calling Aston and asking him to come over, but I decided against it. He'd been worried enough over the last few days. Instead of getting someone to come round and help me figure it out, I decided to go take a nap upstairs. Climbing into my bed I threw the note into my draw carelessly, drifting off almost straight away.

When I woke up it was about 6pm - my parents still aren't back, surprise surprise. I sighed to myself as I got up, walking to the bathroom. As I opened the door, my stomach dropped.

---------------

My breathing became unstable as I stared at the mirror infront of me. The window to my right was completely shattered. A black marker placed underneath it.

'You're on your own now.'

The chilling words lingered infront of me. What the hell was happening to me? Was this whole thing some kind of joke? Part of me wishes it was. What am I supposed to tell my parents? Actually, they'll be too drunk to care, guaranteed.

Still shaken, I grabbed the window cleaner and completely covered the mirror, wiping all evidence away. I'd never been so scared in my life.

Suddenly, there was a crash from downstairs in the kitchen. That's when I remembered.

Somebody had broken into my house... And they were still here.
