JBs point of view
I heard the door unlatch from the front of the apartment and shoved my phone back in its hiding place. I'd been trying since day one to fix it and get a signal, but still I'd had no luck. Just before Ian stepped in the room, I pulled my oversized black hood over my head and turned to face the door way.
"Did you do it?" He questioned, coming closer.
"Yes." I replied bluntly. With that, he left the room. Locking the door behind him.
Yeah, I did it. I broke into my best friends house. I left her a message, a message that was meant to scar her mentally. I knew Taylor better than I knew the back of my hand, and something like this would definitely terrify her. I did t even want to think about the others. Aston. Marvin. Oritsé. Milly. How were they handling this? I'd never know.
Actually, maybe I would. If I stuck to my promise. By helping this 'gang' do their dirty work, I was buying myself a pass to freedom. And I was willing to do anything to get out of here. I hated it. I still had no idea why they chose me, they refuse to tell me. Oh right, 'they' is Ian, Luke and their leader. No one knew who the leader was. They constantly wore a mask. It was haunting. Sometimes I woke up in the middle of the night, having nightmares over that mask. It's chilling features lingering in my mind - blank eyes, feminine cheek bones, and striking bright red lips. It doesn't sound terrifying, but trust me. It is.
This apartment was awfully cramped. Not that that really mattered. It was also one of the creepiest places I'd ever had the misfortune to witness. The original walls were impossible to see, coated in pictures of different people. Their targets. Well, previous targets. God knows where they are now. Part of me hopes they're safe and well, but the other part believes they're not around to share their story. Sometimes I'll spot a picture of one of my best friends, and a chill will run through my body. None of the pictures are posed. The people in them have no idea they were being photographed. And there was a purpose behind every photo them.
They could all be used for blackmail. Each photo contained its subjects biggest secret. I'd only noticed this a few days ago, when I spotted a picture of Aston and Taylor hanging just above the computer desk (no, I can't use the computer for communication. The 'leader' isn't that foolish, unfortunately). In the photo, Ast and Taylor are kissing. At first, I didn't think this was a big deal. I'd seen them kiss so many times before. I thought this was a picture from the party, before I was captured. But it wasn't. They weren't at a party. They were in the woods, alone. It was pitch black, apart from the flashlight in Astons hand that they'd obviously been using to light their way. I knew they were close, but not that close. Neither of them had ever mentioned this to any of us. I guess it was their secret, and I didn't really care. But it was extremely stalkerish that a group of strangers had a picture of something that private between two of my best friends.
My thoughts were interrupted by Luke barging through the door.
"We have your next task." He looked at me, smirking evilly. "Time to visit another one of your little buddies, JB"
