While Clarissa changed in the bathroom, I rushed to the closet. I quickly peeled off my clothes and slid in my new lingerie. Then I slid my gown on over it. I tried to steady my nerves. Tonight I planned to take things to the next level of our relationship.

I slipped on my shoes and knocked on the bathroom door. Clarissa opened it, and I zipped up her gown and she did the same for mine. I quickly applied my makeup, and hers. Then I fixed our hair. I braided her delicate locks into a flower shape at the back of her head and pinned it in place, letting the rest of her hair flow freely.

When it came to mine, I curled it elegantly and lined it back into a half updo half down style. I tossed a few things into my suitcase and zipped it up. Just then there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!" I called out. A man I'd recognized from Alex's security team entered.

"Hello Ma'am. May I take your suitcase to the car?" He asked.

"Yes please, but first, may I ask your name?" I asked, earning a shocked glance from him.

"My name is Elijah, Ma'am. May I say that you and the little Miss look spectacular," he smiled.

"Thank you Elijah, but please, call me Tabitha, and this is Clarissa," I smiled.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ma- Tabitha," he smiled again.

"I like your muscles!" Clarissa blurted out, and he let out a soft chuckle. Instant her cheeks grew red.

"Why thank you, I like your smile, Clarissa," he replied. I could almost see her swoon. "Is your bag ready too?" He asked.

She nodded shyly and he left to grab her bag. "I like him," she blushed as he left.

"I think you just found your first crush," I teased.

"You got lucky you found your prince charming right away," Clarissa smiled.

"Things aren't always as they seem, but I'll explain when you're older," I smiled.

We carefully left the room and as we slowly walked down the stairs, I locked eyes with Alex. He gulped as he stared into my souls sending my stomach into flutters.

"You look stunning, wife," he spoke darkly. I could almost hear the lust dripping from his voice, and it made my stomach tumble. "And you, my gorgeous little princess," Alex smiled lifting her up, "look like you belong at a ball."

The drive to the restaurant was quiet. Clarissa had taken her new book out of her new purse and was happily reading away. My hand rested in Alex's atop the center console. "You look handsome," I smiled up at him.

"You look like the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen in my life," he replied.

I blushed a bright red at his words. "Just promise me one thing," I spoke softly so Clarissa wouldn't hear.

"Anything," he smile.

"I will tall to you about them soon, I promise. But can tonight just be about us, and not what happened to me?" I asked nervously.

"Of course love," he smiled lifting my hand to kiss it. "I won't force you to talk before you are ready."
