"Which way did she go?" I asked worriedly.

She pointed toward the elevator. I sprinted to it and pressed the button. I stepped inside, pushing the button for the ground floor. I looked down at my feet and saw her hair tie.

I picked it up as the doors opened. I heard the sound of tires squealing as a white van peeled off. I had a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach as I frantically looked for her car.

When I found it, it was locked and she was nowhere in sight.

I rushed back inside and upstairs. "Allison,  get me the security footage for the elevator and the parking garage!" I yelled as I ran in and grabbed my phone from my desk.

I called Tabitha's phone, silently begging for her to answer. When I heard a soft click I thought my prayers were answered. "Tabitha are you alright?!' I yelled worriedly.

"Tsk tsk. I tried to get her to answer, but she didn't want to talk to you," a deep voice spoke.

"Who the fuck are you and where are you taking my wife?" I yelled into the phone.

"Awfully possessive for the man that just called his pregnant wife a mistake," the voice taunted.

"I never called her a mistake," I growled.

"She heard you. We'll be in touch, if you want her back that is," the man spoke.

"Of course I want her back! I wasn't talking about her!" I yelled as the line went dead.

"What is going on?" My father asked worriedly.

"Take Mama, go pick up Clarissa from school and bring her back to the house," I yelled.

"But-" my father started.

"JUST GO!" I yelled as I ran from the room.

She'd heard our conversation, she thought I didn't want her, or our child, or Clarissa. I could barely breathe as I made my way to the parking garage. She must think I regret marrying her.

How could I be so stupid? She's alone, pregnant, and feels like the last six months have been a lie. I banged my head on my steering wheel, trying to get out some of my frustration. I took a deep breath as I turned the key in the ignition and drove.

I called my security team and informed them that Tabitha had been taken. I advised them to send two men to Clarissa's school with my parents. They began retracing her steps for the day to see if they could find any clues. I had another team looking into the footage from the office. There had to be a clue somewhere.

"Please Tabitha, just hold on for me love. I promise you, this isn't what you thought. I could never regret being with you or loving you," I spoke.

For the first time in a very long time, I prayed. I begged with my heart and soul that we would find her and my unborn child. I prayed that when we did, they would be alive.
