Adam Jones
Last night was...indescribable. Anna and I kissed for the first time! I know she didn't have the courage to call me in to show me her new house. But it's fine. I couldn't wait for the trip.
"Sir are you ok?" my secretary asked me as I was engrossed in my thoughts.
"Huh? Of course, I'm ok. Go do your work." I was a bit rude. I don't know what's come over me.
*************
I couldn't wait to see her. The day got over quicker than I imagined. I went home at 7 AM as I had some work left. I just couldn't control myself to go see her. I rang the bell and waited for her to open the door. After a total of 5 mins, the door opened.
"Hi!" I said as she opened the door.
"Hey. What's up? Come in." she said and I stepped in.
"Thank you. I just... wow! This is a beautiful home." I commented.
"I know right? So, did you pack?" she asked me.
"Yeah. All done." I lied.
"Oh really? Then why did you just come home now? And you're still in your office clothes." she said with her arms crossed.
"Smart. Ok, you're right. I'll go and do it later." I said.
"Okay. So, what brings you here? Did you want anything?" she asked me with her back facing me as she was packing.
"I wanted to see you," I said without any hesitation in my voice.
"Oh," she said and stopped packing. She froze in her place.
"I mean you know I hadn't seen or talked to you after what happened last night. And I..." I was saying when she stopped me. Now she was facing me.
"Adam," she said in a low tone and sat down.
"Wow. My name never sounded this bitter." I said and sat down next to her.
"Just...Let's forget about what happened last night. Ok? We never kissed. It happened out of emotion. Nothing else." she said.
"Yeah. Yeah. That's what I wanted to tell you too." I lied. "Umm...I'll go and pack. See you in the morning." I said and got up.
"Yeah. You too," she said and walked me out.
That kind of broke my heart. But, I know she would've done it just because she's scared of our dads. I am too. They've made it pretty clear that this relationship should never happen.
I went back home to pack. Got everything in the suitcase in 20 mins. I pack light always. Then I heard Anna talking with someone outside. It was Ben and Rita. What were they doing here at this time?
"Hey, guys," I said.
"Hey, Adam. How are you, man?" Ben said.
"What are you doing here?" I asked them.
"We were on our way home and Anna had called us to show us her new house. So we came." Rita answered.
"Oh, that's nice," I said.
"Adam, please try to talk some sense into this girl. She's refusing to go to Vegas tomorrow." Rita told me.
"What?? Why Anna? Are you ok? You were fine all this while." I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just don't wanna go," she answered.
"Oh, come on. It will be fun. We four have never gone anywhere together." Ben said.
"Anna. It will be nice. We'll enjoy it. I promise you that this will be the best trip of your life." I cheered her up.
"Okay fine. Let's go to Vegas," she said.
"Yes! I knew you would be successful at this Adam." Rita said happily.
"I'll change my mind, Rita." Anna teased. Typical Anna.
"Don't you dare," she warned. "We're gonna leave. It's getting late. See you two at the airport tomorrow." Rita said.
"Yeah bye," Ben said.
"Bye," we said in unison.
*************
It was morning! I got up, got ready. I wore a white T-shirt with a brown blazer jacket and blue jeans. I grabbed my keys, kept my luggage in the car, parked the car in front of Anna's house, and waited for her to come out. After 15 mins, she came out wearing a crop top and jeans. She was looking so hot. My jaw dropped.
"Close your jaw man," Anna said laughing.
"Haha. It was never open." I lied.
"Yeah right," she said sarcastically.
"Let me. You sit in the car," I asked her as she was going to put her luggage in the car.
"Thank you," she said and sat in the car.
I kept her luggage in the car, checked if I locked my house properly, and sat inside the car.
"Let's go?" I asked her.
"Yeah sure," she said.
"What's wrong? You look dull." I asked her.
"No, I don't. I'm fine. Let's go, please?" she said. Something is wrong with her.
"Okay," I said and started the car.
It was a silent drive. None of us initiated a conversation. We reached the airport in an hour. I parked my car and both of us checked in our baggage, finished the security check, and went to the area for the private flights' area. Once we reached there, we saw Ben and Rita waiting for us there.
"Hey." Anna and I said as we approached them.
"Hey, you two. Let's leave? Or Anna do you wanna buy something from the duty-free store?" Rita asked Anna. Since the time Anna started traveling a lot, she has had this habit of buying something from the airport at the duty-free store. She says it's like a souvenir/memory of that travel.
"No, I'm good," she said making all of us get shocked.
"Are you ok? You look like you have a fever." Ben asked.
"I'm fine!! Ok?" she shouted.
"Ok fine. Don't shout." Rita calmed her.
I wanted to ask if she was ok but after she screamed at Rita, I didn't even dare to do so. Within a couple of minutes, the flight took off. It was a 5hr flight. I don't know what's wrong with Anna today. She was fine until I talked with her last night. I shouldn't have done that. I hope I'm not the reason for her anger.
