Knock Knock
I opened the door and saw that it was none other than Anna.
"Can I come in?" Anna asked.
"Yeah sure," I said.
"Adam...I..." she started as she came in
"I know. It's fine." I said.
"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have screamed like that. It's...I screamed only because I got scared of the future." she was saying when I spoke.
"Anna," I said but she didn't let me compete.
"I'm not yet done! And you know about what's gonna happen if our families know about this. But that wasn't right of me to scream like that so I'm sorry." she said with tears in her eyes.
"Anna. Are you done?" I asked.
"Umm...yeah I think so," she said.
"I understand your fear. And that's mine too. So, we'll get a divorce as soon as we get back without anyone getting a doubt. And by anyone I mean our dads and whoever who is very close with them." I assured her.
"Yeah. That's what I had in mind too," she said.
"It'll be okay," I said.
"Thank you," she said.
We hugged each other and the silence filled us. Her eyes were still filled with tears so I wiped them. She looked at me and smiled. I smiled back. That's all that will happen from now. Our lives have just become complicated and taking in all this is a lot, especially for her. I know that I love her but I can't stay with her. I wish we could run away but it's just not in the cards for us. Now, our life begins.

After what happened, Rita and Ben decided that it was not the best idea to stay there for more days. So, we left the next day and came back to New York.
"Ok, so we'll see you another day. Ok?" Rita asked.
"Sure. Thank you so much, guys. You've done a lot. And so sorry for ruining this trip." Anna said.
"Yeah, we never meant it," I said.
"It's ok. We have work too and Mr.Work A Lot wouldn't let me have a vacation at first too." Rita teased.
"Hey!" Ben exclaimed.
"It's ok. Bye, you two." Rita said.
"Bye." Anna and I said.
"So, guess tomorrow's gonna be quite a day," I said to Anna.
"Yup," she said.
"My car's here. Come on, let's go." I said.
"Ok," she said.

We reached our homes. Both of us got out of the car sadly. Tomorrow will be better. Once the divorce is over, we can go back to being normal again.
"Bye An," I said.
"Bye, Adam," she said sadly.
She went into her house and I went into mine. We didn't speak again that day. I just hope tomorrow's better.
