Chapter 12

K.C smiled as Trent talked about is life after the move to South Africa.

"So then I moved in with my cousin Laura, she's one year younger than we are but she's a genius."

"A year younger? Doesn't that make her a señor in high school?"

Trent nodded. "She studied abroad in Japan for awhile so if you can't tell she has different customs than we do."

"That's amazing! I wanted to study abroad too but my dad wouldn't let me.." KC pouted as she puffed out her cheeks.

Trent laughed. "But then we would've had met right?"

KC giggled. "Shut up!" She lightly punched his arm.

Trent chuckled. His phone suddenly rang. KC watched as he mouthed a apology and answered it. Trent walked off to talk to the caller.

KC stared off at all the signs and billboard around her. Trent had taken her to CENTRAL and they roamed around the shops all day. KC laughed as she looked back on her day.

After they ate at the cafe the two walked to the next town over. Trent offered to drive but KC refused because she loved the scenery. As they walked into town they passed many shops and looked at all the window displays. Trent dragged her into a hat shop and they tried on many different shapes of hats. The owner eventually got angry and they had to leave. They then got crepes by a nearby stand. The rest of the day went smoothly as they told each other jokes and just talked.

"Sorry about that.." Trent came back.

K.C shook her head. "It's okay, so who was it?"

Trent sighed. "It was my boss... I have to go to work to help them out..."

"Oh.." KC smiled. "That's okay! You can't help it!"

"I had fun though!" Trent chuckled. K.C nodded. "Me too."

"I'll see you later then," Trent waved as he gave KC a hug. "Text me sometime" he winked before walking off.

KC let out a sigh before looking at her phone. It was 3:00. The girl then decided to call Brianna. KC confirmed the contact and pressed 'talk' before putting the phone to her ear.

"Hello, this is Brianna."

"Hey it's KC!"

"K.C! Hey how was your date?" Brianna said coyly.

"Shut up! We were just hanging out!" K.C laughed. " anyway what about Finn hmm?"

"Eeh?! Finn is fine.." Brianna said nervously.

"Are you okay you sound nervous Brianna~" KC teased.

"Y-yeah nothing happened! she laughed nervously.

"What was that Brianna?" Came another voice on Brianna's line.

"N-nothing Finn..Hey give me the phone back!"

"Hey KC!" Finn said as she heard Brianna's protests in the distance.

K.C laughed. "Hey Finny! What's up? How you been?"

"Just fine!" Finn laughed. " How is it in South Africa?"

"Great! I met some new people and stuff."

"That's great to hear! Anyway I have a friend over there. His name is Caspar Lee. Emily told me you met him?"

"Oh yah I did! He seems nice..." K.C chuckled nervously. Talking about Caspar made her blush.

Finn laughed. "Well if you ever see him again tell him to call me okay?"

"Okay! " KC laughed.

"Alright then I guess Brianna wants to talk to you now~" Finn sang as he gave the phone back to his angry girlfriend.

"Finally Finn! Jeez!" "Love you babe~" Finn chuckled.

"Hello Brianna?"

"Im still here!" Brianna fumed.

"I gotta go I'll text you later."

"Aww okay. Bye"

"Bye"

KC hung up and stretched her arms.

'I guess I should head home' she thought.

KC started to walk home when she suddenly got a text.

She smiled widely when she saw it was Caspar.

[Hey KC! Could you maybe come over? I need some help..]

K.C raised a eyebrow. Help? With what?

[ Sure I don't mind. Text me the address.]

A couple minutes later she got a text back.

[I'll pick you up by the university... I'm kinda busy]

[Okay I'll see you later! :)]

KC pushed send as she made her way home.

After a long walk KC reached the gate and noticed a familiar car by the curb. She walked up it and peeked in the window. She screamed when a white shaggy dog popped out and licked her face.

"What the hell?" She shouted in surprise.

She suddenly heard laughter come from the car as Caspar came out of the jeep.

"Hahaha! You should've seen your face!"

KC face-palmed her face. 'What a idiot'

"Is this what you needed help with?" She asked.

Caspar smiled and nodded his head. " I don't know what his name is yet or how to take care of him."

KC sighed "alright I'll help....."

"Alright! Hop in let's go!" Caspar fisted his hand in the air.

KC climbed in and was instantly crushed by the matted dog.

"Aww he likes you!" Caspar smiled as the white mutt licked her face.

The car stared and Caspar drove the car down the hill. K.C looked at the passing buildings and people as they drove past Kynsna and Central. KC noticed a beach house on the cliff in the distance. By the house was a lighthouse in which K.C was quite familiar with.

"Nice place huh?" Casper winked.

K.C nodded. "Y-yeah. This is your house?"

Caspar nodded. "Yah and my friend Grayson's we live together. He's my roommate."

The jeep parked onto the drive way as the two blondes and the canine stepped out.

"It's kinda messy," Caspar laughed as he opened the front door. They stepped inside and KC's eyes widened.

'Kinda messy' was a huge understatement. There were dirty clothes all over the floor and furniture. On top of that were empty pizza boxes, paper plates, and empty bowels.

"Make yourself at home!" Caspar grinned.

K.C slapped her forehead. This was going to be a long day
