Chapter 29

Caspar didn't know how long he stood by the curb for. To him it felt as if time had stopped all together. He didn't feel the hot summer sun burning on his skin, or the light shoves of people moving past him as they headed the opposite direction. He couldn't hear the faint whispering as people pointed at him in amusement. It was as if the world itself was falling apart.

The blond felt his stomach knot up as the image of Gray appeared in his head. All the laughs they shared. All the sadness they felt together and the happy times. Those feelings that times would get better,

Was all a lie.

He didn't want to admit it but the facts added up. Gray knew everything about him and probably about K.C too.

It was hard to believe that Gray had hated him this whole time and he never knew. All the laughs and smiles were all fake and Caspar never even noticed. It gave him chills just thinking about what Gray was feeling behind all the fake smiles and false companionship.

Hatred? Remorse? Anger?

He couldn't even imagine.

"Caspar?"

Gray must have wanted him dead the moment they met..

"Hello? Caspar?"

Maybe he shouldn't go back home. Maybe he should-

"Caspar!"

The boy snapped out of his daze as a snap of the finger brought him back to reality. His eyes widened as no one other than Grayson Marshall stood towering over him.

"Hey are you okay? Not spacing out are you?" He laughed as the brunette held out his hand to help Caspar stand up. Caspar hesitated not even realizing he had fallen down.

"What are you doing here?" He choked out as his heart started racing.

Gray raised an eyebrow as he crossed his arms. "Getting Lunch...? It's 2 o' clock.... Are you sure your feeling okay?"

"Yah." Caspar quickly dismissed. "I'm just fine. I gotta go to K.C's class since you know."

Gray gave a confused look. "No I don't.. What's up with you? You're acting weird, more than normal.

"What's wrong with you?!" Caspar suddenly yelled out surprising himself.

"What?" Gray was thrown back in surprise. "I don't get what you're-"

"I mean Charles, Gray?! Really?! You're working for him out of all people?!" Caspar interrupted, blood boiling.

Gray's face grew from slightly tan to pale white. "How did you.. When?...."

"Claudia Gray. Freaking Claudia told me." Caspar growled as he ran his hand roughly through his spiky hair.

"I was going to tell you.." Gray muttered holding onto his arm in guilt. "I just never could find a good time to..."

"Really? Are you fucking kidding me?! That's all you can say?! Gray this whole friendship we had was freaking bullshit!"

"It started out like that but things changed Caspar! I meant everything that I said." Gray retorted trying to calm the boy down.

"Yah and the whole part about never lying and trust was real too? We've been friends for almost 10 years and I find out that you just pulled all that shit out of your ass. Your such a bastard." Caspar snarled as he stormed off.

"Caspar! Damn it let me explain!"

"Yah and hear more bullshit? I bet that whole Nina thing was bull too right?! A sob story?" Caspar called out before disappearing in the crowd.

Gray sighed loudly as he put his hand behind his head. "Damn it. Just dammit...."

Caspar could feel his heart pounding against his chest as he continued running. Everything had gotten out of control. He should have let Gray explain. He knew his emotions got the better of him but right now all he wanted to do was run away and hide. Unfortunately there was nowhere left to turn to.

There really wasn't a home left for Caspar to go to. The boy choked on his breath as he walked in a nearby alley. He panted hard as his back slowly slid down the brick wall and onto the cold dirty ground under him.

Caspar could feel the blood pulse in his ears as he tried to regulate his breathing. Despite the cold sweat dripping down his back, Caspar shivered as the feeling of betrayal take over. The blonde tilted his head back as he closed his eyes.

"What the hell do I do now? "

The clockwork bell chimed as K.C strutted out of her last class of the day. The girl happily humming as she held her first A + essay proudly to her chest.

"This is so great!" She laughed. "This is probably the best paper I ever written ever."

Laura walked beside her eyeing the girl in utter confusion. "I don't understand why you're so worked up... I mean I get A's all the time..."

"That's because your so freaking smart." K.C laughed. "It's a first for me."

"You've never gotten an A?"

"Well yah I have...but not in college!" K.C exclaimed still admiring her paper.

'Even though Caspar proof read it for me.'

"Well we just started so you should look forward to getting more." Laura lectured. "You shouldn't let just one A distract you from your other work."

K.C laughed. "That's a pretty harsh way of thinking. You must have been studying non stop throughout high school!"

Laura pouted as she looked away. "I studied in Japan for a while. The school system was way harder you know! I didn't have time for fun things.."

K.C pursed her lips as she stared at the short brunette beside her. "Then...."

Laura was taken aback as K.C suddenly grabbed her arms and smiled widely.

"We should go clubbing!"

"Ehh? No! That's ridiculous! We have classes tommorow!" The girl panicked.

"So we're not doing anything and we only have one lecture, in the afternoon too!" K.C giggled. "It'll be fun!"

"But.... I...don't have anything..to wear." She muttered quietly.

"Then let's go shopping! I need some stuff too." K.C reasoned. "Kill two birds with one stone right?"

Laura sighed as she reluctantly nodded. "O-okay......I guess...."

"That's the spirit! C'mon lets go!"K.C cheered as she dragged the flustered girl toward town.

A/N: Okay guys so don't trip cause I'm having a posting week specifically for this story because jesus I'm scared all of you will have heart attacks. Not that I wasn't happy with all the comments you guys have been giving cause it makes me super happy! I promise to post at least 3 chapters this week. But anyway I'm in Tampa, Florida right now and ill be awake all night typing since I can't freaking sleep! Stupid three hour time change! Anyway hang in there guys!
