Chapter 23

It has been a week since K.C and Caspar apologized. As usual life went on and K.C was accustomed to her new life in South Africa. Other than Caspar, the girl made many other friends in her university. Out of them this also included Laura who K.C found out was actually really fun to be with.

The semester was starting and K.C got all her text books and summer homework that she needed to complete. She had barely left her room all week in an attempt to get everything done before the year started and Caspar's constant visits weren't helping. Emily had managed to help with all her English work before she went home but there still was her sciences and math work.

K.C sighed as she rested her head on her messy desk. "I'm never gonna get this done!"

"Honestly why do you have to do all this work?" Caspar whined. "Let's go have some fun!"

K.C groaned. "I wish... But I have to work..."

"Hey you can drop out so we can hang out!" Caspar cheered.

"I can't do that! My dad would murder me!"

"Hmm.." Caspar thought as he peeked over her shoulder. "Let me see it can't be that hard."

Caspar leaned over the desk as he examined the math problems in front of him.

"Ehh to hard.." He said and jumped back on the couch.

"You didn't even try!" The girl scolded.

"College is stupid. It just stresses you out really." Casper retorted as he rested his eyes.

"You've been to college?" K.C asked curious.

Caspar just shrugged. "Yah for like 3 days. It was annoying."

"So you went to college for 72 hours..." K.C sighed. "What a waste. What college did you get into?"

"Eclair University Of Ethics"

"Are you serious?!" K.C yelped in surprise.

Caspar flinched in surprise. "Y-yeah?"

"That was my top school of choice! It's crazy expensive and hard to get into." K.C rambled. "The campus is beautiful and the classes are amazing and-"

"Why did you wanna go there?" Caspar interrupted his voice mixed with annoyance.

"What?" K.C questioned.

Caspar snorted. "That school's full of kiss ass preps that want nothing but fame and wealth. They don't care who they have to throw under the bus to get it. Trust me you wouldn't like it there."

"It can't be that bad.." K.C mumbled.

Caspar stood up and pat her head. "I like you here better anyway." He smiled.

K.C blushed. " I guess.."

"Let's finish this up so we can go get something to eat." Caspar grinned as he pulled up a chair.

"I thought it was too hard~" K.C teased.

"Just because I was there for 3 days doesn't mean I didn't pass any of the tests." He smirked.

K.C laughed. "Alright Mr. Smartass fire away."

Meanwhile back at the Beach house in Central, Gray was sitting on the porch looking out into the ocean. As expected his cell phone rang. He sighed and answered it.

"Oh it's you again." He said coldly.

"Hehe as expected you're not happy to hear from me?" The caller chuckled.

"What do you want now?!" Gray growled.

"It seems to me that Caspar found someone important to him. I want information on that girl Gray."

Gray went silent.

"Are you there?" The caller asked.

"Y-yeah" he choked out.

"You know why you have to do this. Don't screw up Grayson."

"I won't Charles.. As long as she's safe."

"But Of course. And that's Mr. Lee now."

With that the caller hung up leaving Gray in total silence.

'Just be safe....' Gray prayed, face in his hands. "Please be safe Nina.."
