Day 1

“Hey babe. Are you up?” Daniel sounded hyper.

“Yes. I have been since two this morning. I couldn’t sleep.”

“Did you wet the bed or something?”

“No, I don’t wet my bed. I had a bad dream and I tried to remember, but I couldn’t. I tried to read but that didn’t work so I just sat and did nothing but think about things.”

“Was I part of those thoughts?”

I smiled. “Yes.”

“Care to elaborate?”

“No. We need to get off the phone and get ready. My dad said we should be at the marina at eight. We set sail at nine.”

“I know what you have been thinking about. I thought about it too and had to take a shower for the second time last night. And now I have to take a shower again.”

“You are such a guy, so horny all the time. Get a move on. Love you, bye.”

“Love you too, bye.”

I got my clothes out and went to take a shower. I dressed into a pair of respectable white shorts and a light blue button top with matching blue sandals and a floppy white straw hat with a matching blue ribbon. I tied my hair into a low pony and used a little lip gloss to finish the look.

I was busy packing my cell and charger in my white beach bag when my mother knocked and came in.

“Morning Emma. Good you are dressed. Your dad is like a child. You would think it is the first time he is going sailing. He is so excited about this trip. He got up at five to make sure everything was packed. He took the last of the things to the marina and we will meet him there, so you should come down as soon as you are done.”

“Good morning mother. You go like a runaway train. Dad working on your nerves?”

“You could say that.” She lefty my room and I heard her mumble something.

I checked my room to make sure I had everything. I checked the bathroom to see that I didn’t leave any taps open and that everything in my room was unplugged. When we went away on vacation we only left the fridge, freezer and alarm plugged in everything else was disconnected or switched off at the mains.

We arrived at the marina just before eight and I could see Daniel and his parents were already there. I parked the Porsche in one of my dads’ lockups and Daniel did the same.

“Hey babe. You look mouthwatering.” He whispered that so no one would hear. “Are you ready to go?”

“Hi and no I don’t look like you said and yes I am ready to go. Will you grab that cooler so we can go?”

Daniel grabbed the cooler and then with his arm around me we walked to the yacht. “This is going to be so much fun.” Everyone was on the yacht already except for Daniel and me. “Permission to come aboard captain?”

“Permission granted sailor. Bring my daughter with you or you will walk the plank.” He said that with a pirate voice.

“Yes captain. I wouldn’t want it any other way.” Daniel laughed and everyone else joint in.

My dad was proud of his yacht. She was big and luxurious. He named her ‘The Lady Lana’ after my mother. She was just less than twenty meters long and had two levels under the deck. The deck had a bar a breakfast nook. The first level consisted of an open plan kitchen and living room that had all the luxuries of home and a toilet. The bottom level had a small storage space and four bedrooms, two bedrooms had double beds and two had single beds. The bedrooms were two in the front and two in the back of the boat. Between the bedrooms were the staircase that led to the top and a small study next to the stairs. There were two bathrooms one in the front and one in the back.
