It has been three weeks and we were already almost in the end of July. We had two months of summer left. I haven’t made any plans about college or traveling for a year. My life was finally where it was supposed to be. Daniel and I officially became a couple last week. We told our families and they were happy. I didn’t need Daniel to sleep in my room anymore because the nightmares had vanished. That was a good thing because as soon as my father saw us kissing a week ago, he banned Daniel from my room and all the curfews were back in place.

Chris and I were okay. He was totally in love with Alisa and somehow he managed to get her to say yes when he proposed to her. They were going to have a long engagement because her parents would only agree to it if they were willing to wait until they both graduated from college.

Life was good all around. We were all enjoying the sun on the beach. Daniel and I were playing chess while Chris and Alisa were swimming. The beach was crawling with people having fun.

“Check mate!” Daniel shouted. “I got you on this one. So what do you say we go for a swim?”

“Okay, I don’t like chess anymore. You win every time.”

Daniel took my hand and led me to the beach. We ran into the waves and crashed into the water. We emerged seconds later on the other side of the waves. We had fun dunking each other and swimming.

“Daniel, I heard my dad was planning a trip on the yacht next month?”

“Yes, we are all going as far as I know. Your dad said we will leave on the fifth and be back on the fifteenth. We will only travel along the coast and we will only travel a few miles from the coast. Your dad is worried that we will get annoyed with each other if we have to stay on the boat too long without visiting land.”

“How many of us will be going?”

“Both our parents, you and me will be going. Chris is going to stay because Alisa is not a fan of boats.” Daniel pulled me into his arms and held me close. “He did want to do it with only the men but I told him that I didn’t want to go without you so he said we all go.”

“Thank you for that. I don’t think I would survive ten days without you.” I gave him a quick kiss and dove into the water back towards the shore.

I got to the beach and searched for Daniel in the water. Our eyes met just as he walked into the shallow water. He ran the rest of the way to me and grabbed me around the waste and turned us around and around. We were having the time of our lives.

On our way to my house we had to stop to drop off Alisa and Chris. As we drove away from Alisa’s house I couldn’t help but wonder what Daniel thought of Alisa.

“Daniel, what do you think off Alisa?”

“She is okay and Chris is mad about her so I guess as long as Chris is happy I don’t really care much. Why do you ask?”

“I was just wondering that’s all.”

“Okay. So what do you want to do tonight? I was thinking we could go to Joe Bishops’ party. We haven’t been to one since we officially started dating. It could be fun?”

“Okay, we can go, my parents will not be home till really early tomorrow morning so I think they will let me go and I can ask them for an extra hour on my curfew.”

“We don’t have to stay later than our curfew. We can go back to your place and spend some time there.”

“Are you sure, I know you want to spend time with your friends? I don’t mind driving myself then you can stay longer.”

“Are you trying to get rid of me or are you scared of what might happen if we are alone in your house?” He had a devilish grin on his beautiful face. “I might just insist on you wearing that sexy black bikini again.”
