Chapter Thirteen-The Partner in Crime

I made my choice and I was going to stick to it, I was going to set free all who has been bounded by their wishes. I smiled and laughed hysterically at the mere thought.  I knew I was going completely insane; I was one of the few who could admit it. I started going back to school; however I hid my insanity under a smile, especially when I was around Joshua. The days seemed to be going slower and slower which was infuriating because I wanted them to go by as quick as possible. I have been fighting witches every day since I moved into the mansion. I go fight alone and when I do fight, I take out all my anger and hatred on the witch.

The next day was a Saturday and I didn’t want to spend it inside. So I decided to go to the mall and walk around but not buying anything as usual. I sighed at the thought of my poverty; thinking that my dad probably cashed in my mother’s life insurance policy and living the good life. I was supposed to meet Joshua here with Pearl and have some fun. The thing is, I’ve gone completely insane and nobody can suspect anything. When I do start killing off puella magi’s, I shouldn’t go after Pearl or Joshua, they both were obviously stronger than me, so I should pick off the weak ones first.

I walked around the crowded Providence Place Mall until I made my way up to the even crowded food court. It was six ‘o’clock and due to daylight savings time, it was dark. I sat at a table in front of Taco Bell and waited for Joshua and Pearl’s arrival. About ten minutes later I heard a familiar voice call out my name. I turned my head and noticed Joshua walking toward me, but he had someone else with him. They both walked toward me as the tall figure with him was clearer. It was a boy that I had seen in school sometimes. He was about as tall as I was and he had long, dark brown hair. His white skin made the freckles on his skin more visible when he got closer. He had on a dark jacket which counteracted with his red leather pants and red sneakers. When the boy was only a few feet away, I picked up a strange feeling. The strange feeling felt like intimidation, but I know it wasn’t Joshua.  The boy felt powerful, more powerful than most people I knew. He was a pretty skinny guy, so I wouldn’t expect too much power from him, but he just felt odd.

Joshua: “Sorry, Pearl couldn’t make it today”

Ethan: “That’s fine, who is this?”

Joshua: “This is Justin Banville”

I shook the guys hand and we exchanged formal greetings. I darted my eyes back to Joshua and they both sat at the table.

Joshua: “We should get something to eat, what would you guys like to eat?”

Justin: “FUJI CHEN!”

Fuji Chen was a Chinese cuisine restaurant that was in the far corner of the food court. I’ve been there plenty of times, so I had no objection to it. The food there was pretty amazing, especially their sesame chicken. The restaurant got a lot of business so we would be waiting in a line, but the outcome was worth it.

Joshua: “Alright I’m off”

Ethan: “I’ll go with you”
