Chapter Fifteen- Training

Ethan's P.O.V

I have come to terms that some of those Puella Magi may be stronger than me. So that's why I needed Justin. However, Justin did need to work on his tactics. I leaned against my bedroom door and scanned my room. I smiled and thought about everything that's happened. Night after night I still have those nightmares of Brandon telling me to murder magical girls.  I stepped away from my door and walked to the memory room. I placed my hand on the diamond doorknob and hesitantly turned it. The door swung open, revealing a beige room with pictures of Puella Magi and plaques underneath. I sighed and walked over to my brother's picture. I ran my fingers against the plaque as tears swelled up in my eyes.

Ethan: "Why are you doing this Brandon? Why are you making me slowly go insane?  Why do I have to kill other Puella Magi just to get the nightmares to stop?"

I felt the stream of tears fall down my right cheek. I banged on the glass of his picture. I hit it and hit it, over and over, I was surprised that the class didn't shatter and cut me. I sunk to my knees and let my hair drape over my eyes. After ten minutes of wallowing in my own self-loathing, I stood up and walked out of the room without looking back at the picture. I shut the door silently behind me and walked away.

Suddenly my stomach gurgled with the sound of emptiness. I swore that I heard it echo throughout my entire body and down the hallway. I guess I was hungry, but Puella Magi don't need to eat. I guess I have to keep the part of me that's still human in check. I walked down the long staircase to my right and walked across the marble floor to the kitchen. The kitchen looked like something from a television show. There was a large countertop with cherry wood chairs in the middle of the room. Along the sides were large black ovens, a chrome sink and a dishwasher in the far corner. I sat at in one of the chairs and tapped my hands against the counter surface. The white door burst open as a woman with thick, long black hair and a white chef's outfit walked in.

Woman: "I am Hildegard; I will be your chef this evening. What would you like to eat?"

She spoke in a thick, angry, German accent which I found frightening. However there was one thing I was craving this evening.

Ethan: "Got any shrimp?"

Hildegard: "NEIN! I do not touch seafood, I am highly allergic"

          I sighed in exasperation.

Ethan: "Fine, just make me something simple"

Hildegard scoffed and pounded her fist onto the table. Suddenly Joshua entered the kitchen with his arms crossed. He had an infuriated look his face. He flipped his chocolate brown hair out of his face and huffed in anger.

Joshua: "Is there a problem here Hildegard?"

Her attitude changed for a brief moment. Her angry, thick voice turned into a quiet one. Her anger dropped off her face as a sympathetic look washed on.
