Chapter 18

Justus POV

We all sat in the living room with the feeling of defeat thick in the air. All I could think about was that little boy. His mother running frantically with tears streaming down her face trying to find him. I could hear her voice screaming "Anthony! ANTHONY!

All I felt was anger.

The professor walked in with Orion beside him.

He cleared his throat  "I know today didn't go as planned but let's not let it discourage us-"

"I think some of us need to realize that. We're supposed to work together" Marcel said quickly glancing at Onyx who was leaning up against the wall and looking at her fingernails.

"Things would've had a different outcome if some of us would just have stuck to the plan," Kiara said.

Onyx let out a chuckle while shaking her head.

"Is something funny" I asked feeling irritated.

"Something's hilarious actually" she replied "'Some of us'" she said making quotation marks in the air "if you guys have something to say, say it and don't beat around the bush"

Her nonchalance about the whole situation was just adding fuel to the fire. "Alright no problem," I said facing her " I don't know what your deal is, but from what I can see, you're self-entered."

"Justus there is no reason to-" professor started.

I stood up "No let me finish" I interjected. I started walking toward her and she leaned off the wall and stood straight, like she was putting her guard up.

"This is a team, it doesn't revolve around you. The plan went left all because you had you're own agenda." I said

Onyx shook her head and laughed sarcastically, looking at all of us like we were a joke.

I stepped towards her feeling angry "you think everything is a joke huh? Well let me tell you what I find funny" I stepped closer now in her face and stared her directly in the eyes

"You're pathetic. At first I thought it was maybe you're shy and that's why you don't speak to anyone but now I see it could possibly be because you're too self entitled, selfish, you think your better than us"

She shoved past me and tried to walk away but I grabbed her arm before she could "Always running away when things get hot. How bout you-"

She turned around with rage in her eyes. She flicked her wrist and I flew backward. My back slammed against the wall behind me.

"ONYX STOP" I heard the professor yell.

I groaned as a burning sensation spread through me from the hard impact I made with the wall.

Onyx walked towards me. I tried to get up but my body wouldn't move. She was holding me down.

She crouched in front of me"lets get one thing straight, you don't know me and I don't owe you or anyone in this room a thing and the next time you put your hand me, I'll break it and that's a promise. You think I'm a selfish little girl, fine, just know this 'little girl' doesn't think, she knows, that she is stronger than all of you combined."

"Wanna test that theory" Kiara said coming towards Onyx.

Onyx turned her attention to Kiara and slowly stood up. She let out a condescending laugh "I could take you like it's a warm up"

"But like you said you're stronger than all of us, let's see then" Marcel said as him and Arianna stood up.

"Can we all just chill, emotions are high right now, fighting each other won't help" Arianna said.
