THREE DAYS LATER

"So?" I said to my parents as we ate breakfast together "what do you think"

I came to them two days ago and told them everything that went down at the professor's house and they said they needed some time to think about it because it's a lot to take in

They can say that again.

Now since we were all together, I figured I bring up the topic again.

"I don't know Mar," my dad said as he cut into a piece of his a "You don't think this man is a little weird," he said as he took a bite.

"Yea you don't know him " my mom added "And what he's asking the 5 of you to do comes with risks," she said taking a sip of water

"Honestly" my dad began "your a smart boy son. you're not 10 anymore when I and your mother told you to want to do," he said putting his fork down

"I say you think about it and knowing you, you'll make the right decision"

"And please really think about it Mar. if you choose to join him, I'll support you but I won't stop worrying" my mom said

"I'll have to consider it. But I don't think it's a bad idea. There are a lot of metas out there who commit crimes and get away with it because the police aren't trained or strong enough to deal with them. A group of good metas should be formed to combat the bad ones and keep the world safe."

I said matter of factly "plus it'll be nice to finally put my powers to use. The professor said he'll help us train and master our powers"

"Your right. but keep in mind how society views metas. they think all of you, even the good ones, are bad" my father said

"That's even more reason why the world needs this team, to show that not all of us are up to no good," I said

"From how your talking right now it seems like you kinda already made up your mind. but honey please give it more thought and weigh all the pros and cons" my mom said.

"and make sure you still keep up with your studies. this is a huge task you'd be taking on and I don't want it to distract you from your work" my dad stated

I nodded my head "School is never a problem for me dad"

As we continued eating we talked about random topics

But the events of yesterday kept playing out in my head.

"This isn't a good idea mi amor it's dangerous," my Abuelo said as she scans the clothing rack

I was at the mall with my grandma and just buying cute stuff at our favorite boutique

"This is cute no?" she said holding up a blouse

"Si" I began referring to the blouse "I know what the risks are Abuela, perro this is a chance for me to finally learn how to control my powers. I'm so tired of not knowing when my powers will activate and not knowing how to manage them." I said as I examined a shirt I had picked up

"and I can use my powers to help people"

"When you talked to you Abuelo what did he say," she asked

"He said he's worried I'll get hurt and he's not sure I should trust that professor" I replied

"And he's right. no conoces an ese hombre Arianna you don't know his true intentions. En serio you need to think this through mama. And when will you have time for college work"? She asked.
