Chapter 2: Unexpected beginnings

Maylin's POV:

So I made my way to the pharmacy since I read his routine and since it's 10am he needs his daily meds.

Once I reached there there was no one there, so since I'm now amongst the staff members I think I have some access right?

So I let myself in, man saying that this place is small is an understatement it's huge like hell. I don't think I'll get what I need on my own.

As I continued thinking someone interrupted my thoughts by coughing. I turned around to see a cute girl in glasses having a bob hairstyle but it really made her look nice . She had that innocent but hot look and she was really owning it. She coughed again and said,

"May I help you?" Oh right .

"Hi, I'm Maylin I'm sorry for entering without permission but I needed some medicine for my patient and-"
She interrupted me saying,

"Your the new girl , right?" I nodded and she smiled, and said.

"And Susan gave you the impossible patient right?" I cocked my eyebrow up and said,

"Impossible patient?"

"Yeah the patient that can never get better no matter what."

" How do you know that."

"Well most nurses couldn't save him, and nobody has ever agreed to making him their nurse. It's known in the whole hospital. He's been here for 2 years but nothing works on him, every doctor has done everything to help but he can't get better . And you do know the rule in the hospital."

"What rule?"

" If a patient dies in your arms your fired." That's why everyone quit.

"So people couldn't risk loosing their jobs. That's pretty selfish , they couldn't take care of him well thinking their jobs are on the line, that's stupid." She smiled at me.

"Your different I see."

"But i have one question if as you say he's an impossible patient then why is he still here?"

"Coz his family is loaded and kinda owns the hospital so we still have to take care of him." I nodded well his room did look much more better and fancier than the other rooms.

"So I bet Susan set you up." I looked at her

"How did you know?"

"Coz I've been working with her for the past 3 years I know her well and how she'll sabotage anyone she sees a threat to her."

"How am I a threat, we are at work."

"But the difference is , your ten times better than her."

"How do you know that."

"Intelligent minds don't need evidence for what's already there." She smiled at me and I smiled back.
I like her already.

"I'm Jasmine , nice to meet you Maylin Im the pharmacist in this section and here are Mr Rockland's medicine. I hope you can change his condition I hard seeing him the same condition for a long time. I hope we can be friends coz I like ur style." And I took the meds and I said

"We can totally be friends."

"Good , now first thing to know, stay away from Susan and I think that's all to worry about." And she giggled but honestly she looked nice looking care free.

"Don't worry I'll stay away."

"Okay, see you at lunch break." I nodded and left. I made my way back to the room and once I was there I noticed that Mr Rockland woke up. Coz he's eyes were open.
