Chapter 12: Actions

Maylin's POV:

It's been two weeks since that dreadful call. And im glad he hasn't tried contacting me even more . Though there's a part of me which would just want him to explain a bit more as to why he used me for my money. But maybe we would talk once he comes back though I'm not looking forward to it.

But I brushed that thought away , because it's Saturday and I'm at Babu's mansion. I became friends with the maids too, they also gave me info that Arnold also lives here but rarely comes. An advantage to me.

Today I went with the whole cute short - ish sundress. Coz it was really sunny when I left the house today, and yes I didn't leave at 4am . I left at 9am this time. Because I was just tired from staying up all night to finish an assignment that was due.

My sundress was blue in color and and had that type of breeze free effect. Meaning its very light and the slightest breeze makes it just i dont know, swoosh.

But the good part was, it wasn't windy. I did my hair quite simply today , just took some hair on top and tied it up all together. Just making my face be seen well while the rest of the hair was just left and as usual the curls were wild. But at this point I love how they cascade against my back. Darlene one of the maids who Babu said was Arnold's nanny told me that my hair just had something special that she hasn't seen from other girl. That's when I had to keep the whole, mixed stuff but she just didn't say anything but ignored my clarification.

And she started praising me for my natural beauty as she says, I just giggled at her statement and uttered a thankyou. One of the other maids also joined and then she asked ,

"If she will be our new Mrs of the house I would be glad to work for you." I just stared at her, how many people keep rooting for Arnold and I. It's just not gonna work and they should know that. Darlene coughed and told the other one about some work not done in the east wing, probably seeing my discomfort. The she said,

"Dont worry about that, just solve your problems first." I just nodded and remembered I came to take some water. So I took the water and went to give Babu company. He's good company, he started telling me how his old times were. And how we were the kids of the future and all. And then started telling me about his late wife . The way he spoke about her. Even made me jealous, even my ex boyfriend never spoke about me like that or maybe I wasn't there to witness it. But one day I'll get a person who will love me for me .

A guy who would turn the world upside down to make you happy, a guy who knows what you want without asking, a guy who always knows your weakness and would help you get through it together. Is it so hard to ask to get that type of a guy. Life is just shitty and that's the damn truth .

But brushing the thought away i continued to comfortably watch my movie with Babu, till my damn phone rang . Ughhh

I lazily got up, snatched my phone from one of the pillows and picked up without checking the caller ID.

"Hello."

"Hey Maylin, its Blaire, the secretary. Can you help me go get that book you were telling me about. From the library right now, because the new editions are out."

"Can't I go on Monday?"

"The original one with all the notes would be taken away. So I hope you can help me. "

"But-"

"Please, it's very urgent. I would've myself but I had to go to my son's birthday party." I sighed and then said,

"Fine."

"Your a life saver. Thankyou ."

"You welcome." And she cut the call, Babu gave me a questioning look so I explained the details to him then he said,
