Noah

He couldn't take it, seeing her happy with another guy. Jealousy pulsed through his veins, yet he knew he had no right to be jealous.
Seeing her smile and blush when the other guy's with her and not him... He just couldn't take it anymore.
He rushed out the door of the restaurant and down the steps until he was in the warm sun again.
Noah breathed in the warm summer air and started walking down the street when he heard footsteps approaching him.
"Noah!" She called out to him. He froze where he was and slowly turned towards her.
She was really here. She ran out of the resturaunt even when she was sitting with a guy 10x more attractive than himself, to chase him.
Dixie stops in front of him, slightly out of breath from running.
"What are you doing, Dixie?" He asks her, quietly.
"I saw you and I just..." She says, realizing she didn't really have an excuse as to why she chased him down.
"You just what? Noah asks her. "Wouldn't you be happier in there, with your new guy?"
Hadley shook her head. "Don't be like that, Ars. It's not like that with him."
He didn't know what to believe. He knows what he saw, but he also doesn't want to automatically not believe her.
"I don't deserve you, you know." She says with a sigh, her voice coming out as a near whisper.
Noah looked up at that. "Don't say that.'
"It's true." Noah says with sadness evident in her eyes and her voice. "I don't. You're so amazing and caring and someone like me doesn't deserve someone like you."
He can't believe what she's saying, but he feels the urge to hold her. And it's so strong, that he can't fight it anymore.
Noah strides towards her and puts both his hands on her face, forcing her to look up at him.
"We were happy, Dix. We were so happy. We can still be happy." His grip tightens on her, but not enough to hurt. He makes sure that he's gentle with her, always.
And that's what makes it harder.
She knows he's too pure and too sweet for her, she's just so cold, and she already broke him once. How can he ever love her again?"
He never stopped, that's how.
"I'm scared. I don't want to let you go. You're the mornings that remind me why I'm happy to be alive and the evenings that remind me I've made it through the day. You're everything good about me. Please don't leave again." His voice comes out as a whisper, and his eyes beg her.
She seems to notice the close proximity of their bodies and she doesn't want to, but she slightly pulls away from him.
Hurt fills his face. "Why is it that whenever I try to get close to you, you always shy away from me?"
Dixie shakes her head and looks down. "You wouldn't understand."
"Try me." Noah throws his hands up in the air.
"I'm scared of getting so close to you that I can't breathe. I'm scared of getting so attached to you that I'll be absolutely nothing without you. And I'm scared that I'll fall for you... So hard." She says. She mumbles something at the end, but he can't hear what she said.
He looks at her intently. "Am I close?"
She looks back up at him, slowly backing away from him.
"Too."
