He broke the news to her when they were sitting in their favorite little docking area, staring at the ocean.
At first, she didn't believe him. Second, she considered herself selfish for not being happy for him.
It was his dream school. He's wanted this since long before he met her. She wouldn't take it away from him... No, she couldn't.
But she wanted to. As much as she hated it, she hated that he got the scholarship in Las Vegas and was moving to Vegas for who knows how long.
Dixie just got him back... She wasn't ready to lose him again.
He tried to assure her that they would make it work, that long distance would be of their love for one another. easy because
But she knows the truth. Long distance almost never works.
He said they only had one month together until he left, and that made her even more upset, but of course, she didn't show it, because that would be being a bad girlfriend and she loved him too much to spoil his last month here.
October. Halloween. That was a good distraction, right?
They wanted to be one of those cheesy couples who dressed up as things, so they did. She was a Pink Lady and he was a T-Bird.
But every time she found herself laughing and having the time of her life, she was reminded that he was leaving her and she wouldn't have that anymore.
All of the kisses, the hugs and his scent were all going away. And they might stay that way... Forever.
She didn't want to lose him all over again.
But Dixie didn't have a choice.
