Mirabel was officially alone. Being friendly with Draco made the three turn on her, on top of no one talking to her, and the general isolation she felt alone.
Fuego was her only company which meant she didn't send her off anymore to deliver messages which meant she never got mail from her family because they had nothing to send it with doubling in her feeling of loneliness.
Mirabel tried talking to them, multiple times, but they always turned away from them and they heard them discussing things without her, it hurt, it really did.
She had taken to crying outside the school grounds near the forbidden forest between classes. She kept up with her school work, but doing magic didn't bring her joy anymore.
She wishes so badly somebody would talk to her, Draco said hello to her, but nothing really special.
On her way from defence against the dark arts one day Professor Quirl pulled her aside. He kept her behind in the lesson and started giving her 'assignments' they consisted of really odd magic topics to say the least.
The first one was to preform a healing spell on a bird with a broken wing, after a few tries she completed it. He then broke the wing again right in front of her to heal again saying 'practice makes perfect'.
The second time she had too stay back with him he used her to create potions, she didn't know what they were at the time, but later she looked up the ingredients in her book and couldn't find anything of what they were, but those ingredients made her skin crawl.
The third time he gave her books to read, when she opened one of them it screamed at her frightening the living daylights out of her. When she asked the librarian about those books later she found out they were in the restricted section where dark magic books were kept.
Every time she was held back Professor Quirl did something to test Mirabel's magic and every time she left feeling sick to her stomach.
She tried telling someone what was happening, but no one would go near her, Hermione, Ron, and Harry were still mad at her, Ms M was too busy for her, she wasn't sure how to get to Dumbledore's office, Flitwick and Sprout said that they only had time for their own house students, the Weasley twins wouldn't be able to help her, and she had a feeling Snape wouldn't care after she had humiliated him by redecorating the slytherin dorm rooms.
She sat outside by the forbidden forest crying, she doesn't know what she did wrong, she wants someone to listen to her, why did she think coming here would mean people treated her any differently? She could scream in a room of people and no one would listen to her.
"Eh lass? You alright?"
Mirabel saw Hagrid's feet through her tears and nodded not looking up. "Eh now what's wrong? I know a sad face even if I can't see it," Hagrid said putting a hand on her shoulder. Mirabel wipes her puffy eyes. "It's nothing," she said. Hagrid clearly wasn't going to let this go. "Here come with me. I know what will cheer you up," he said.
Mirabel follows him, but only because she's scared of disobeying him. She follows him to his small hut and he lead her inside and told her to sit down on one of the oversized chairs, when she sat in it she looked like a mouse compared to it. A large dog sat nearby and she leaned down petting it's head and giving it's ears a scratch.
"Alright lass here you go," Hagrid placed a mug in front of her and she peers into it. "What's this?" She asks. "Butter beer from Hogsmeade always bring some back for me self, but you look like you need it," He said and sat down in the chair opposite the table and next to the fire with a pot over it.
"Now take a sip and tell me what's wrong?" Hagrid asks her. Mirabel sniffs it before taking a sip. She lit up because it tasted delicious! She gulps down some more, but the mug was too big for her to finish all of it. "Now lass tell me what's troubling you," he said. "Nothings," she began. "Now don't go on about that nonsense I've seen you crying out there every minute you get. I promise I won't tell Mcgonagall nothing, but if you don't tell me now I will go tell her about yee crying," Hagrid told her.
