VALENTINA'S POV

It's so cold.
I shiver and look around only to be surrounded by the blue and white ice and frostbite water.

What's going on?
I take a step but, it's like walking on ice.

Crack- crack.

'No,' I look below me, and I see the floor below me covered in cracks and lines. The breaks of the ice become deafening as I try to run away from them but I don't look where I'm going and fail to realise that there was a hole of water in front of me already and after taking a final step, I fall into the cold water.

-

There was a huge crash and I shot up into a sitting position.
What?

I shiver as there's a large gust of wind swirling around me and I look around to see that I'm still in my bed, tangled in covers.
It was a dream
. I chuckle to myself and get up but suddenly frown as I see the breeze coming from my open living room window. I always left it closed.

Hearing a crash coming from the kitchen, I grab my throwing knives from my bedside table and hid at the entrance of the kitchen. Listening in, I could tell they were next to the counter doing something on it, and they seemed unarmed and unprepared.
So, I swiftly took a step around the corner and threw the knife only for the victim to move to his left, missing the point of the blade by an inch and grab the knife handle, in mid-air.

"That's not very nice, Angel." his arrogant voice pouts and I immediately drop my guard.

Oh.

I get out of the defensive position I was in and narrow my eyes and glare at him.

"How did you find me?" I demand, pointing another one of my knives at him and I instantly stop myself. That was an idiotic question.

Francis completely ignores my question and twirls around the cylinder on the countertop, making my eyes widen. He stops and throws the container over to me, which I catch again without a flinch.

"You're on them again?" he says in a monotone voice, but I could sense his disappointment.
Choosing to ignore it, I walk to hide the container of anxiety pills again and, in the process, I grab Francis by the collar and yank him out the door.

"Yes." is the only thing I say before I slam the door and let a deep breath, but it hitches as I hear a slight chuckle behind me. How-?

I shook my head to look behind me and I could feel my skin pale as I see him still standing behind me, dangling car keys from his index finger.
"I thought I made it clear that I didn't want you here. Ever." I spit with venom, but he just laughs

"Well, you didn't try and ignore me last night," he says lowly, and I tilt my head, not knowing what he was talking about. Then I connected the dots.

I did close the window and he was the one to open it. But my eyes widen as a next thought. And he was the one next to me.

"Can I at least offer you a drive?" Francis says, switching the topic quickly, in a sarcastic tone and I narrow my eyes, face-palming myself mentally. He probably already knew my bike is getting serviced and we could both hear the rain outside.
I'd give him that for doing his research.

"Okay," I said and grabbed an apple and go into the bathroom to get changed. Before I left, out of the corner of my eye, I could see his eyes light up and his smile became less dim.
