October 10th This day started alike any other in konohagakure no sato (Hidden Leaf Village) quiet and peaceful. Late in the evening, closing in on night, that peace would be shattered.
Kushina Uzumaki, wife of the Yondaime Hokage Minato Namikaze, was heavily pregnant and could give birth anytime now. Kushina was the the jinchuriki of the Kyuubi (9 tailed fox), so special precaution had been made to insure that the kyuubi would not escape during child birth when the seal was weakest.
As Kushina goes into labor, Minato uses his flying thunder god jutsu to teleport her, the nurses, and a few anbu to a hidden cave outside the village that was secured for this occasion. The anbu stood guard outside the barrier placed around the cave. Minato was holding control of the weakened seal and Biwako (the Sandaime hokage's wife and head nurse) was helping Kushina through labor. After a long and arduous labor, Kushina finally gave birth to a small baby boy, Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze.
Biwako holding Naruto leaned in to show Kushina and Minato, "you now have a beautiful boy, lady Kushina, lord Hokage-sama."
Kushina, tired and drenched with sweat, smiled widely while tearing up,"oh Naruto, my baby, welcome to the world, I love you so much."
Minato was still concentrating on the seal, but looked up and smiled at his new son. Biwako was walking away to go clean Naruto off, when the worst outcome possible became reality. Minato and Kushina heard a loud thud, they look over and see a masked man holding Naruto with a kunai to his throat and Biwako was on the ground dead.

"Step away from the jinchuriki or the baby dies," the masked man states cold and menacingly.
"Please, calm down, we can work out a solution," Minato said nervously.
"I guess I'll have to take her by force," the masked man said, tossing Naruto in the air and went to stab him through with the kunai when he suddenly saw a yellow flash and he was alone with Kushina.
"Good, this makes things much easier," he says before walking over to Kushina. "I need the kyuubi," he says before breaking the seal completely and ripping the kyuubi out of Kushina. The man looks into the kyuubi's eyes, placing it in a genjutsu when it tried to attack him before reverse summoning the kyuubi to the middle of Konoha.
The man looks back at Kushina, "so even ripping the kyuubi out isn't enough to kill an Uzumaki, too bad, but I need you dead."
Kushina was even weaker, barely conscious at this point, "why, why release the kyuubi, why kill me, what are you after," she whispers out angrily.
"Because I want to destroy this village and you could stop the kyuubi. This village destroyed my life and this is my revenge," the man replied as he walked over with the same kunai in his hand that was meant for her son. Before he could kill her there was another flash and he was alone. "Damn him, the yellow flash, he is going to ruin my plans."
