*Time skip 1 yr. 3rd Person POV*
The last year has been really hard on Naruto. The mother of the orphanage has almost completely stopped feeding and interacting with him outside of the frequent beatings she started giving him. Naruto has been relying on the monthly visits from Hiruzen and the scarce scarps left behind by the other kids for food.

After that day around a year ago, when Hiruzen got concerned about Naruto, he had a pair of anbu watching Naruto at all times.

What he didn't know was that a lot of his anbu despised Naruto, a few were just uninterested in him, and the only one who really cared for him was Inu, Kakashi. Whenever Naruto was alone, which was a lot, the anbu who hated him would have fun beating Naruto as well.

Now, we see Naruto curled up in the corner of his room trying to protect himself. Naruto was in severe pain, the mother was whipping him across whatever part she could reach with a belt, mostly his back. He was a sobbing, whimpering mess, curled up as tight as his little body would allow, trying to run from the pain.

*Whoosh* *Slap*

Naruto screamed in pain as he was hit again, slowly it was becoming too much to take and his vision was going dark.

"You really had the audacity to ask for food. You're a demon, you don't deserve food. You're nothing but evil, and I wish you would just die already," the mother yelled, all while whipping him with the belt repeatedly.

Eventually it became too much, and he didn't even react to the next whip as he was already unconscious. Naruto not realizing he has passed out and appeared in his mindscape, was still sobbing, curled in on himself. When he realized he wasn't being hit anymore, he started begging for mercy.

*Kyuubi's POV*
I woke up, hearing sobbing start in my cell room. I open my eyes to see a small boy, that happened to be my host, curled up in a small ball pressed against the wall across the room. I was about to speak up, but I heard him start begging in a small broken voice.

"Pwease, I sowwy. Pwease stop, it huwts. I no ask fow fowd again. I-I sowwy pwease," he whimpered shaking badly.

My heart was breaking just at the sight of him and his words.

'He's not wearing a shirt, and he's nothing but skin and bones. The only reason he is still alive is because of me, otherwise he would have starved to death already. God, look at his back, it's covered in lash marks, blood, and hidden underneath, scars. I should calm him down because he looks like he about to pass out from panic. '

"Hey," I tried to speak quietly and soothingly, but as soon as I spoke his breathing sped up more and he curled up tighter if possible.

"Hey, Naruto. It's ok, you're safe here. You're not there anymore. You're not going to be hurt here," I tried again, speaking just loud enough for him to hear me.

I saw him jolt at the sound of his name, like he was surprised I said it, before he seemed to listen closer to what I was saying and started to slowly calm down. He still seemed scared, but he slowly turned to look at me.

"D-doggy? Whewe?" He asked confused, looking around trying to figure out where he was.

"Naruto, listen. I am a fox, and you are in your head," I explained after getting his attention.

"My head? How? How I get hewe?" He asked me still confused, and he rolled his head and crinkled his nose.

'Cute! No! Now is not the time' "Do you remember what was happening before you showed up here," I asked, also wanting to know what happened as I was only able to feel when he was in pain.
