(TW: self harm)

Kenny made a cut on his wrist, setting the broken glass back in the drawer. He didn't know why, but it felt somewhat relieving to hurt himself. Like it was relieving some pent up anger, sadness, whatever. He had also decided to use it as a way to keep track of how many days there were in between deaths. He had started only a few weeks ago, when he'd found that broken beer bottle in the alley way, he picked up a shard, not knowing why.

Kenny sighed, wiping the blood off of his wrist. He had gotten used to pain by now, dying all the time certainly played a part. He thought about what had happened yesterday. Her words really... stuck with him, sort of. Everyone's words did. The good, and especially the bad.

"Hey!! McCormick!!" Butters' mom yelled, making Kenny jump. He had tried to sneak out of Butters' room early in the morning and well.. failed. "What are you doing here?!" Mrs. Scotch asked sharply "Nothin'..." Kenny replied cautiously. "I want you to get off of my property!!!" She yelled. Kenny got the message and scrambled away, running across the track as fast as he could. "We are not having a McCormick scrounging around outside our house!!" He heard her yell after him.

Kenny sighed. Sometimes he wished that he wasn't one of them. A McCormick. A dirty, stealing, damn McCormick.

It was still fresh in his mind despite it happening yesterday. He stood up, opening his door and walking downstairs. He searched the cupboards back to front. His parents had left that night for god knows how long, leaving Kenny and Karen alone. Kenny eventually found... nothing. Nothing. "Huh..." he muttered. He needed to go shopping. Kenny reached into his pocket before realising...

It was gone.

That's right... he couldn't find any work since the mugging and his wallet was probably still in the street. He paused and let out a simple

"Fuck."

"Hey, Kenny." Stan said as Kenny sat down, empty handed. "Where's your lunch, Kinne? Are you tuu pooooor??" Cartman asked, earning an elbow from Kyle. Kenny shrugged "mph.. Mrph mmph- mph Mrph mph mrphmph." Kenny mumbled, pulling out his phone. The others shared a look of concern before going back to what they were doing. Butters, however, was the only one who didn't let it go. He stood up, grabbed Kenny's hand and ran to the school bathrooms.

"Mphmrph?!" Kenny said, confused as Butters dragged him. Butters pulled Kenny into the bathroom. Kenny pulled his hood down "Why'd you-" before he could finish, Butters hugged him. Kenny tensed up, surprised. Butters waited for a moment, as if hesitating "Are you okay?" He asked. Kenny paused.

Huh?!

"Wh.. Butters.." Kenny muttered. Butters hugged him tighter "I know we haven't hung out since yesterday, and I know you've been at home, but when did you eat last?" Butters asked, pulling away. His eyes flickered with concern, his words urgent. Kenny's gaze softened. "I'm worried about you.." Butters said, voice laced with concern. Kenny sighed, reaching a hand up and ruffling his hair "Don't worry, Leo, it was yesterday. I got home and I found something to eat. It's okay." Kenny said, lying through his teeth. He hugged Butters back, praying he didn't question it. "Okay.." Butters mumbled. "Now lets get back to lunch. Eh, Butterball?" Kenny asked. Butters looked up and nodded, a small smile on his face.

"Really? You'll take me??" Kenny asked, eyes sparkling with excitement. Mr. Tweak nodded, staring down at Kenny "Yes. As a janitor at first. But, if you're good at it, you may be promoted." He said. Kenny smiled "You won't regret this! Thank you, really." He said. "Right. You start Monday." Mr. Tweak said. Kenny nodded "Alright. See you then." Kenny said, mouthing a quick 'thank you' at Tweek for getting him this job. Tweek twitched and then nodded in acknowledgment. Kenny walked away back home, grinning ear to ear.

Kenny walked home, the cold seeping into his bones. He approached the tracks, walking across them. The teen sighed, hearing the horn. He stopped in the middle of them, not seeing the point of running when he would just wake back up. Kenny turned his head, instantly getting totalled by the oncoming train. He wouldn't lie, it hurt. He screamed in pain before blacking out completely. Of course life wouldn't just let him die instantly. It just had to prolong the inevitable.

His vision went black. Then, a bright light engulfed him. He had risen to heaven. Kenny's feet rested safely onto the clouds, the pearly gates looming over him. Kenny walked forward, reaching his hand out. It always stopped here, when he was just about to enter either Heaven or Hell it would all stop. And that was exactly what happened.

Kenny woke up in his bed, breathing heavily. He put a hand on his forehead, his hair falling in between his fingers. Sitting there for a moment, he let himself calm down, his hand slipped down his face. Kenny's head fell back onto his pillow, sighing. "This is never gonna go away.." he said, closing his eyes and slipping into a deep sleep...

...

Kenny awoke to Karen shaking him. "Kenny! Mom and Dad are fighting again. Can I stay with you..?" She asked. Kenny sat up "Wh.. They're back already...? Yeah, sure I'll play, Karen." He replied, voice laced with sleep. She gave a sad smile before climbing into bed and sitting up. Kenny mimicked her, sitting up also. "You wanna play?" He asked, she smiled and nodded, the kind of smile she didn't do often. Kenny would kill just to have her smile like that all the time. "Alright then. Let's go!" He said, picking her up and walking her to her room.

"Have you found any clues?" Stan asked, resting his arms on the table "No, no clues on him yet. Buuut, we do have some idea of how we could get some." Cartman replied "Oi, Kenny. What the fuck is this song?" He asked, gesturing to the jukebox - Tweak Bros Are classy - Kenny flipped him off "Fuck you, the song stays." "Anyway." Kyle said, trying to steer the conversation back to the original topic "How can we get some clues?" He asked. Craig rolled his eyes "He's just bluffing to make himself look cool. There is no way besides a direct confrontation. Common sense." He said, his voice slightly nasally. Cartman scoffed "As if! I know everything about Mysterion. Were best friends actually" he said. Kyle laughed "As if, fatass! Mysterion finds you annoying, I guarantee."

Kenny mopped up the floors. Him and his friends were chilling at Tweak Bros, talking about superhero shit. They all came to him as his shift was ending and the place was deserted. "Oh please." Kyle said to some remark that Kenny didn't quite catch. "Anyways," Craig began, the rest of the groups conversations coming to a halt. "I wanted to ask you guys something." He said. "We're all talking about all the superheroes identity's, right? But, I've been thinking." He said

"Are any of us superheroes?"
