"Kenny! Get up, your brothers leaving!" His mom yelled down the hall.
Kenny shot up and jumped out of bed, and slipping on some clothes. It had been about a week and a half after he had told the group about his curse, it was a little before school started, he had time.
He rubbed his eyes and opened his door before running out of his room to see Kevin about to leave. "Whaaat?" He exclaimed "You fuckin' leaving without giving me a warning? Traitor!" He said. Kevin laughed "Sorry geeeez." He replied. Kenny huffed and walked over "You're not gonna be gone forever, one day I'm gonna come ambush you at your house." He said. Kevin made a gagging noise "God, I hope not." Kenny scoffed and pushed him lightly "Fuck you tall boy" he mumbled. Kevin laughed and pulled him into a bear hug "Don't die without me, Ken!" He said, pulling back and winking. Kenny was slightly taken a back before smiling "I won't..!" He said. He indented it to come off normally, however the sudden mixed messages Kevin was giving him made his voice waver slightly, coming off a little unsure of himself.
"And you too, Karen! Don't think I forgot about you!" Kevin continued, Kenny's thoughts drifting elsewhere.
Fuck, does he know? Do all of them know??
Kenny glanced at his parents, them watching his two sibling with smiles plastered on, however their eyes were dull and cold, filled with... sadness? almost anger. His father looked over and caught his gaze, Kenny quickly averted his eyes, best not to start anything. Not now.
"Kenny, helloooo, Kenny McCormick." Kenny snapped out of his thoughts and turned his gaze to Kevin again. Kevin frowned slightly, but put on a smile. "I'll miss you guys." He said.
"Bye, Karen. I love you so much." Kevin said, crouching down and hugging her. He let go and stood up, turning to their parents. "See you soon, mom, dad." He said, finally turning to Kenny. "I'll..." He paused "I'll see you later. Bye Kenny." Kevin said, hugging Kenny tightly, Kenny hugged him back, clinging on instinctively for a second when he pulled away. Kevin turned to the door, looked over his shoulder and smiled, before walking outside and closing the door behind him.
...
7:45pm
Kenny sat in his room, those words echoing around his head, him trying to make sense of them...
"Don't die without me, Ken!"
"Don't die without me,"
"Don't die"
"Don't die"
"Don't die"
"Don't die"
"Don't die"
"Don't die""Don't die." He said out loud, frowning.
Can't be that hard.
Kenny sighed, he needed a walk.
He stood up and put on some warm-ish clothes, slipping into his parka, too, took his keys and phone and walked through the house and to the living room.
"Where the fuck are you going?" His dad asked. Kenny didn't answer. "Hey, I'm talking to you!" Kenny unlocked the door and stepped out, locking it behind him.
He decided to walk into town, sure it was a little risky but he didn't give a shit right now, he needed to think. He walked down the streetlight illuminated street, looking into the dark windows of various stores. He walked up to the construction site of the new mall through a back alley he knew of.
After accidentally summoning ManBearPig a second time and having to ask Satan to kill him again, the mall became the prime target for destruction and the county decided it needed to be rebuilt for... reasons after the whole Amazon thing fell through.
He walked past the abandoned hard hats and rubble until he heard something... undesirable when you're all alone.
"Hey"
A whisper, right behind him. He knew it was far away, because he would've known if it was right behind him, but it sounded like the voice was right in his ear. Though, that might've been his mind playing tricks on him.
He stopped dead in his tracks.
Fuck.
Then he heard it again.
"Hey, you."
He slowly turned around. He would've ran, but something felt like if he did that he might be in more trouble that if he stayed still. He felt as if invisible eyes were watching his every movement from every dark corner of the construction site.
"...Hello?" He said quietly, his voice shaking slightly. He knew that if he sounded scared then he'd be more of a target to whoever this was.
"Kenny McCormick?"
The voice whispered. Kenny flinched.
"What the- how do you know my na-" He started before being tackled. "Gah!" He yelled, being forcefully pinned to the ground face down so that he couldn't see his attacker. He heard even more whispers, they all blended together, but he could make out something.
"He's the boy." "He's the special one."
"Who are you?!" He asked.
"He is the one who shall not perish." "It's exactly as he told us." "We know everything about him"
His heart sank, that's what this is about?!
Fuck. Fuck, somebody ratted me out-
He began to panic as to how he was going to get out of this. He saw no way out, his vision beginning to blur. He felt himself being hoisted up effortlessly and thrown on his back, his phone falling out of his pocket. His attackers slowly made an advance on him, he panicked and did the first thing that was available to him. He picked up his phone, knowing he only had a split second. He shared his location to Leo, Stan, and Kyle, something he never did, and then his time was up.
His phone was whacked out of his hands and he was tied up, he began to panic more.
I hope to god this works.
Eventually, when they were done tying him up,—Which took a minute or two, they used weird knots for some reason—they duct taped his mouth closed, blindfolded him, and picked him up, chanting something. He tried to get free but it was useless.
Until...
"Get. The. Fuck. OFF OF HIM!!" He heard a voice yell. The people that were holding him were then tackled down and he was dropped onto the ground. He tried to wriggle free of his bindings before a familiar face took off the blindfold and tape. A tear ran down his cheek "Leo..!" He said. Leo gave him a smile before cutting him free of the ropes. "Cmon, we need to get you out of here." He said quickly, helping Kenny get to his feet. He glanced back to see Stan and Kyle fighting off his attackers with knives. "But Stan and Kyle-" He began "Don't worry, we have a plan for that. Just cmon!" Lei said, taking hold of Kenny's hand and running. Kenny trusted that they would be okay and ran with him.
Once they were fan enough away, Kenny thought of something...
"It's just as he told us" "We know everything about him"
Kenny slowed to a stop. Leo turned around "What are you doing??" He asked "I overheard them say they knew everything about me. Karen's in danger. Somebody I told, told them." He said. Leo exhaled in disbelief. "Alright then, let's go get Karen. She can come with us to Tolkien's house. Everything's gonna be fine" He said. Kenny smiled "Yeah."
Kenny entered his house as Leo took guard outside and ran through the empty living room and down the hall. He entered Karen's room where she immediately sat up. "Kenny?" He walked towards her "Karen..." He whispered "come here." He said. She got up and walked towards him "What's going on?" She asked. "I'll- I'll explain later, okay? Just- w-we need to go. Do you need anything?" He asked "No. We need to go?" She asked. "Yeah. Cmon." "Okay, I trust you." She said. He nodded, taking her hand and rushing her out of the house. Leo looked behind him and smiled "Alright, you have everything?" He asked. Kenny nodded.
Suddenly, Stan and Kyle came into view, yelling and shouting at them, being chased by a swarm of people. Kenny's heart sank. All he could make out was
"Run!! RUN!!!"
