Chapter-3 (Buzzing)

I picked up the phone from the floor and put it in my bag. Then I head towards Mia to ask whether she was leaving or not. I thought of telling it to Mia about Robert's phone but I denied the thought.

"Are you leaving ?"

"Yes just wait a moment I have to clear the counter. You go and wait outside." She said while she was busy with the counter.

I head towards the main cafe door and stood outside waiting for her. Though today was my birthday but nothing happened special like birthday. But one thing that happened was wonderful. Meeting with the great celebs though, I was not knowing that Ashley was so stubborn and rude.

I was just thinking about all the things that happened today when Mia came and gave me a tight hug. I got surprised by this.

"Mia ! What happened ?"

She released me and gave me a wide smile and said
"Happy birthday Kate! "
"Thanx Mia but what happened ?"
I waited for my answer but she said nothing. Then all of a sudden she took out a small box which was covered in a pink wrap. It was looking cute and 'happy birthday' was printed on it.
She gave that box to me. I was about to open it when she said.

"No ! Don't open it now. Open it when you are home."
"Thanx Mia !" I said giving a wide smile and kept that box in my bag.

"Now we should go and get a beautiful cake for you!" I nodded and we started walking.

I reached my home at about 11 and was very exhausted. Without wasting my time I rushed towards bathroom and took a shower. After my shower I sat on my bed thinking of what happened today. Then all of a sudden a thought occurred my mind. The box ! That Mia gave me. I took out that small box from my bag and looked at it for a moment, then I opened it and found a beautiful locket. It was a heart shaped locket of silver colour and was very beautiful, I opened the locket and saw that on one side there was Mia's photo and on other side there was my photo. I wore that locket. I never had my birthday with any pomp and splendor but I never felt sad about it. I used to celebrate with my best friend Mia and that filled me with great happiness.

Though my family was not that much rich but I never complained about it. My father died when I was 10. I had been raised by my mom. I also had a small brother. My mother did everything to provide me better education and all the facilities. I didn't want my mom to take a lot of stress so I also started working part time. I rented a small room near by my college. It was an old apartment but it was good for me.

I was very much tired of all the stuff that happened today, so I set my alarm for college and drifted off to a sound sleep.

"What the hell is that sound!" I murmured to myself in a half sleepy state. I was woken up by an unpleasant buzzing sound. I woke up and got off my bed. I rubbed my eyes to get a clear vision as my eyes were blurred from sleep. I switched on the side lamp of my bed. It was like a phone was buzzing. I checked my phone but it was not buzzing. I checked the time on my phone and saw that it was 2 am in the morning.

Then suddenly I realised!!! "Oh my god!" Its Robert's phone. I jumped of my bed and hurriedly ran towards my bag. I took out the phone from my bag and at that time it stopped buzzing. I opened it and saw 8 missed calls. I opened the call log and saw that it was an unknown number. I pressed home button and kept the phone on silent mode and kept it in my bag. I was not knowing what to do with it. Maybe Mia could help me!
