                            Arthur

I open my eyes as the sun rays hit my face from the window.

My eyes widen in surprise as I realize that I've been on call with Dr. Aria the whole night.

Shit. I feel so embarrassed now.

I quickly hang up the call and put my phone aside.

But then I realize something even more surprising, I slept last night. I don't know how long it's been since I slept peacefully, without having a bad dream or any stressful thought.

An unconscious smile makes it way to my lips as I think of last night.

That doctor seriously owns some super powers. I've never met someone with so much positivity in them. It's like she knows how to handle everything.

After dressing up nicely, I head towards the restaurant, Josh told me about.

It's not a very fancy one but it's good enough for middle class people.

"Hi, I am Arthur Hart. Can I meet with Mr. Henry?"

I ask the first person I see in here and I can tell he's a waiter, judging him by his outfit.

"Oh, so you are Arthur Hart," he takes off his apron, narrowing his eyes as he looks at me. "Welcome here, the boss isn't around but he told me about you."

"Oh, so maybe I should come back later,"

"No, don't worry about that. I'll let you know everything about your. And by the way, Chris is my name."

He leads me inside and shows me the whole place and guides me about the work and everything.

So, I have to work 10 hours everyday, and then I'll get paid for the day.

Who would've guessed that one day I'll be doing this job. Then doctor son of one of the most successful businessman in the country is working here in a small restaurant as a waiter. Hard to believe!

But then again, who can fight the fate?

"How was your day Arthur?"

Dr. Aria inquires as she takes sips of her coffee, leaning in her chair.

"Usual, nothing special."

I reply nonchalantly, still feeling kinda embarrassed of our last encounter. I hope she doesn't remember it.

"Okay." She puts her mug on the table and gets out of her seat.

"I don't know if I should say this or not but honestly Arthur, your case is the most interesting one out of those I am working on right now."

I chuckle, feeling a bit offended by her statement.

"Strange. Someone's depression is an interesting thing for you."

She narrows her eyes and adjusts her glasses. "So you're depressed. You never told me."

"I thought it was your job to find out."

"Ofcourse it is, but Arthur I am not a superhero or a magician. If you want me to help you you've got to open up to me. You have to tell me, we can't make this work without a healthy conversation. You have to understand this."

"This isn't easy for me."

That's all I can say at this moment.

"I know. Okay, I know but trust me you can do it Arthur." She walks towards me, and takes a chair, sitting right infront of me. "Let's start from now. Little by little but please, you have to tell me what is not letting you live peacefully."

I take a deep breath, closing my eyes for a second. Looking deep into her hopeful eyes, I tell myself I can do it.

"It all started when my brother died. He was elder than me and was the perfect son and brother one can have. He wanted to become a doctor one day, and on the opposite side, I was a little irresponsible careless kind of boy and I dreamed of becoming an actor one day. But-"

I feel a lump forming in my throat as I try to speak further.

"He couldn't make it. He died of cancer and I- I was left alone after that."

I didn't realise when did tears form in my eyes but I quickly blink them away.

"I am so sorry Arthur. I didn't-"

"No, it's okay. Don't be sorry. I am fine."

We sit here in silence for a good amount of time before she gets up and starts writing something in her notebook.

"I see you're doing a job now." She says out of nowhere.

"Yeah. At a restaurant,"

"What about acting. Don't you want to do it anymore?"

"I don't know the answer." I shrug.

"Well, I think you should think about it. You really have the charms of a hero,"
She says with a smile.

I smile back until I realise it was a genuine smile.

And still she thinks she's not a magician!
.
.
.

My ringing alarm wakes me up and I look at the clock.

Shit! I am late for work!

I quickly take a shower and after getting into my clothes, I run towards the bus stop.

Thankfully, I catch it on time and reach my stop.

I almost made it on time as I stride towards the restaurant.

"You're five minutes late."

I am still catching my breath when Chris shows up out of nowhere.

"I am sorry, I-"

He cuts me off.

"Don't wanna hear your lame excuses. Just get to work, we have a lot of people waiting."

I wish I could shut his mouth but since this rude guy is the head chef here I have to control myself.

I quickly dress up for work and start taking orders.

"Your order Sir?" I ask, my eyes fixed on my notepad, but no answer came.

"Arthur?"

I look up, shocked to see the person sitting at the table.

It was Justin, and if it wasn't enough to surprise me, Lisa was also sitting with him.

I won't be surprised if you guys already forgot about this story lol!
Sorry but I've been super busy so please forgive me.
I love you all!
