I exited the shower and put on some clean clothes from my bag. It was my last unsoiled set of clothing. "I need to do laundry before I leave.", I thought to myself as I shoved the sweat covered garments back in the backpack. I did not know how I was going to manage to escape so I figured it was smarter to wait and plan out my breakout anyway. I still did not want to linger too long. I could not let the beast lure me into a sense of security.
I did not count on being able to sneak out while the monster slept. I may not have known him as well as I thought I did when the vulnerable words had slipped from my lips, but I knew enough to know he would not make the same mistake twice.
Maybe I can just wait to he is preoccupied with his friend. No. I don't need both of the demon beasts on my tail. What if? Just as a bright idea came to me, I heard something out the window. It sounded like something was climbing the roof. I moved closer to the window, curiosity once again getting the better of me. Lightening flashed across the sky, and a frantic feeling settled in my stomach. When I peeked out, I saw nothing.
"Whew. I must be going crazy." I said as I wiped the nerve-induced sweat from my head and turned back toward the bed. Just as my unease was wavering, I heard a loud boom and the lights abruptly went out, and something crashed through the window a few feet away. I felt grimy hands on me and smelled his horrible breath before I saw him.
"Don't make a sound, bitch!"
I did not heed his warning. Instead, I screamed as soon as I turned and saw Carl standing in front of me. He was no longer pudgy as he was when I last saw him. He stood taller and leaner than before. However, he still had that creepy look in his eyes, smelled of stale beer, and had hair as white as snow.
"What? Surprised to see me dear, Maggie? You did not think you would get rid of me that easily, did you?"
"Carl how are you.... Why are you here? What do you want?"
"So many questions. None of that matters, Maggie. All that matters is that I have found you and now, I will have you."
"They will kill you, Carl. You know that. It doesn't matter how you've changed. You know that."
"Oh, you mean your monster. Don't worry about that. He is surely preoccupied at the moment and unable to save you. In fact, he is probably bleeding out as we speak."
Carl grabbed me from behind roughly, taking my hands behind my back in a grip stronger than I expected. "You know humans are no match for monsters. You will die for this." I believed it, too. The monster may not have loved me, but he would protect me. His weird obsession with me would drive his anger. Still, he did not release me.
"He will die, Maggie. Not by humans, but other monsters. More specifically, the demon I made a deal with."
"You sold your soul?" It hit me then how he had managed the magical act of becoming stronger, more youthful. "You made a deal with a demon?"
I could not keep the look of repulsion from my face. I did not have pleasant thoughts about my former boss, but making deals with evil monsters was low, even for him.
"Why do seem so revolted, Maggie. What? You can sleep with a monster. What's wrong with me reaching a mutually benefitting negotiation with one? You are not better than anyone else."
I had to think for a minute. What was the difference? I had in fact slept with the enemy, the enemy that had admitted to being a horrible monster during his existence. Clarity came to me as I heard the roars of my own personal monster from the first floor. I heard things falling to the floor, imagined the duo fighting off other beasts in the dark.
I realized that I was relieved. He was still alive. A part of me had blocked out what was going on outside of our room, but now I could not.
"It is not the same. The monsters you are in cahoots with are truly evil. We aren't hurting anyone. What about your friend? How many has he tortured or killed on your way here? Do you think he won't sacrifice you as soon as he is done using you?"
I could see the question in his eyes. He did not know. Soon he would figure it out. Unlike Brohan, most demons were full of trickery and deceit. The lights flickered back on, but I could still hear the commotion from downstairs. How many demons were there? Were they all demons or were there other monsters, too?
Pulled from my thoughts by a sharp pain at my skull, I tugged at my hands, attempting to loosen the ropes, with no avail. They were tied too tightly. I fought my hardest to release myself from Carl's clutches. I kicked, screamed, and lunged my body away from his, but it did no good. Carl's grip on my hair did not relax in the least and with my body exhausted he barely had to use any energy as he tossed me on the bed.
"Stay still, Mags. I can make this good for you." I did not want to imagine what he meant by good. I was ready to zone out once more. It was ironic how I followed a monster, offered him my heart, and the whole time he had been relatively gentle with me. Sure, he spanked me, teaching me lessons with his lashes. In fact, each whack and rub from his huge hands and soft, but swift tail had made me wet between the legs. This did not.
Carl ran his hands up my legs, reaching my thighs, he paused before they moved under my shorts, briefly grazing my still sore cheeks. I jumped from the light touch, sickness churning in my gut. I could not let this happen. I screamed as I tucked my legs into my body and released them, aiming for his groin. I kicked out with all the strength I could muster through my long legs. I hit the intended target and with a grunt, Carl went down to his knees. At least he wasn't invincible.
I rolled off the bed, hitting the floor with a thud as I landed on my back and knocked the wind from my lungs. But I could not lay there and ease my aches. I had to get up. I pushed my body up with all the energy I had left and ran for the door. Carl was still knelling in pain, his breath expelling from his body in heavy pants. It was now or never.
When I reached the door, at first, I forgot my hands were still knotted behind my back. I was running on pure fear and adrenaline. I quickly did a 180, reaching out for the knob with my bound hands. It took a few tries. My hands ached from turning at an unnatural angle. Finally, the door popped open. I dashed through as soon as my body would fit through the narrow space.
As I made it to the top of the stairs, I saw an awful battle taking place. Xorn was alone, fighting against three other beasts. The leader, I presumed, was the massive green venomous creature. He had purple slime emitting from all of his orifices, and I could smell him from my spot on the top stoop. I warred with wither I should call out for Xorn or stay quiet and not distract him. I was given no choice as Carl bounced down the hall still holding his nuts, barreling straight for me.
"Not so fast, bitch! Were do you think you're going, Maggie? You will pay for that!", he spat at me as he reached me.
"Xorn!", I called out, not sure what to do. I went to run down the stairs, but as soon as my feet touched the second rung, I felt a large foot at my back. I rolled down the steps, hitting each with a loud thump. I finally ceased rolling, landing face down.
Before everything went dark, I pictured me and my sexy red brute in a blissful place. But I must not have been completely out of it because I could have sworn, I saw Brohan finally appear through the awful purple mist. "Xorn, have fun without me?", was the last thing I heard before I let the blackness take me.
