I jump up so quickly I bang my head on the top of the table and hold in a wince.

"I- I, er- i was-"

"Just shut up," Sunwoo groans, "You don't have to make up a lie. I know when my intuition is right,"

"W-what? About what?" I ask.

"Don't play dumb, that's fcking annoying. You're the top student I'm tied with aren't you?" Sunwoo rolls his eyes. I glare at him, why is he being so different than he usually is at school?

"I know you had my paper," Sunwoo says, and him saying it out loud makes me realize what a shitty situation i'm in.

"It was an accident, I swear," I explain. "I picked it up when I was-"

"Yeah yeah, when you were looking for your seminar prep I know. I was there." Sunwoo says, and I swear his eyes got ten times more scary than they usually are.

I gulp, but then I realize at this point I have nothing to hide? I shouldn't be intimidated by him, he's usually a nice person.

"And what do you want me to do? I didn't tell anyone about it. I just wanted to return it to this room, for all you know I don't know what's on that paper," I cross my arms.

"Hah," Sunwoo scoffs. "Well we both know that you have read it, or you wouldn't be acting so suspicious. And the fact is, maybe you didn't tell anyone about it; but you know about it. And I can't let that slide."

The confidence wears off inside of me, and I get the feeling that I should be intimidated after all.

Sunwoo steps forward and I don't particularly feel like getting beat up right now so I make a run for it. I run past him and out of the printing room, heading for a random row of book shelves. I look behind me to see if he's chasing me, but I run straight into something firm.

I don't know exactly how he caught up with me, but Sunwoo grabs my wrists with a smug look.

"You think you can outrun me sweetheart?" He asks. Sunwoo shoves me back into a shelf of books, and a few fall on the floor along with myself.

This makes a thud sound and the librarian calls out: "Is everything okay over there?" but where she's sitting she can't see us behind all the shelves.

"Yes ma'am! We'll be out in a second!" Sunwoo says with his usual polite voice.

What the hell?? He's a psychopath, he must be.

"Too bad, I don't like beating up friends of my friends," Sunwoo says with fake sorry in his voice.

"Y-you don't have to!" I argue.

"My parents would say otherwise," Sunwoo grins, and winds up his fist.

"Wait!" I shout desperately, closing my eyes to prepare for impact. "What if we make a deal?"

I open my eyes slowly when I don't feel a punch.

"Interesting," Sunwoo lowers his fist and kneels in front of me. "What kind of deal?"

Scrambling for an idea I realize I still have his paper in my bag. "Er- I won't tell anyone about you're cheating in exchange for something,"

"Hm, well how about I beat you up and you don't tell anyone? How's that sound?" Sunwoo says.

"T-that won't secure your safety. Even after you beat me up I can always take revenge and tell everyone. But If I'm getting something in return then I'll have no motive to." I say quickly.

Sunwoo lowers his guard a bit and thinks.

"Otherwise there's no way to shut me up- unless you killed me, but that wouldn't... happen," I trail off when I realize I don't know how far Sunwoo was willing to take beating me up.
