"okay, which one?" I hold up a red and yellow headband to Sunwoo who's sitting on a stool inside the shop we're at.
"Yellow," he says, and returns back to his phone.
Once we leave the store Sunwoo and I stroll around the outdoor mall.
"Shit," he mutters under his breath and I try to follow the direction he's staring at. But it's impossible to know because there's many people around here.
Sunwoo grabs my hand and fast walks around the corner of a building.
"What? What happened?" I ask.
Sunwoo peaks around the corner and sighs of relief.
"I saw someone familiar."
"Who?"
"... you could say she was my ex," Sunwoo rubs his forehead.
"What??" I peak around the corner too.
"But I didn't consider us even dating because our parents arranged it," Sunwoo rubs my shoulders. "I hate her."
"Damn what happened?" I turn back to him and we lean against the building.
"I didn't like her to begin with, and after like three months dating in middle school she got sick of me. And then she dumped me in public in front of my parents." Sunwoo sucks his breath in. "Yeah. you can imagine how that went,"
"Bitch," I mutter.
"Hah," Sunwoo grabs my hand again. "She called me a heartless jerk- and since at that time I already thought the same thing about myself, yet hearing it out loud from her really stung."
"She's awful!" I scowl. "Which one is she?"
Sunwoo points at a relatively tall pretty girl with light brown hair with a group of friends.
"Come on," I drag him out from hiding.
"What? Daeun! No, this isn't a good idea," Sunwoo resists and tries to pull back.
"We'll be fine!" I pull him forward and right as we're about to pass her I bump shoulders with her.
I was planning to just stop there and walk away, but I didn't plan for her to turn around and say, "Um, excuse you,"
Before I can respond she spots Sunwoo standing next to me.
"Oh my gosh," She says, and quickly looks him up and down. "Kim Sunwoo?"
Sunwoo sucks in a breath and doesn't say anything.
"It's been forever! You've gotten more handsome," She draws closer.
When sunwoo still doesn't respond I say, "Yeah well you know what they say, breakup then glow up."
"Do they say that?" She looks at me with judgment in her eyes..
"Yeah," I look her up and down this time. "I guess not for everyone though."
Sunwoo lets a small laugh out and I see a couple of the girl's friends force back a smile.
"Um I'm sorry, who are you?" The girl crosses her arms.
"My girlfriend," Sunwoo cuts in and snakes his arm around my waist and pulls me closer.
She falters.
"Well we'd better go. sorry about the shoulder bump," I say sarcastically and Sunwoo and I walk away.
Once we're out of her vision Sunwoo says, "Wow I didn't know you could be so petty."
"Me either," I laugh.
