Midoriya's POV

It's been more than a week, a lot of things have changed. We've moved into dorms at UA, security was strengthened, and lastly (Y/N) nor Dabi –her boyfriend hadn't given us any sign of life.

While we tried smiling, we knew deep down nothing would ever be the same. (Y/N) had changed all of our lives in the few months we had known her.

She was a mysterious girl, who acted polite, she was the definition of what one would call a role model. But, behind that smile hid many secrets and suffering. Her (E/C) eyes lacked joy, she didn't talk much or interact with any of us except Todoroki.

That was until her façade stared to slip up and she started to talk and befriend us. It's like she began trusting us.

I remember when we first met. I was with All Might talking about One for All. I was in the teacher's lounge talking with him. When there was a girl who entered the lounge with utter speed. I panicked but unlike me, she was calm and bowed apologetically.

"Ah, pardon me. I didn't mean to intrude, I was looking for Aizawa sensei." She then gasped even more when she saw All Might, "I'm extremely sorry for interrupting." She bowed several times.

The first thought that came to my mind was she was very polite.

"Not to worry young (L/N)." All Might reassured her.

"Oh good, ah but you can call me (Y/N)." I saw her breathe out and slouch, but as she did she noticed and quickly fixed her posture as if she was going to get scolded by someone. She had lost her calm composure and seemed jittery. "Hello Midoriya." She greeted me.

I was in a blushing-nervous mess yet still managed to say hi back to her. We exchanged a few words and I offered to show her where the library was since that's where Aizawa sensei was at.

As we walked, she held a really sophisticated aura and posture. She hardly spoke.

"Do... you like UA so far?" I stuttered.

I noticed her eyes become indifferent, "It's a good school. The curriculum and teachers are exceptional this year. Many pro heroes attended here, such as All Might, Eraserhead, and Endeavor, so I suppose it's quite good." She replied as if she were reciting something off a paper.

"Oh, yeah." I nodded.

"You're a kind person Midoriya, and you have lots of potential. You'll be a great hero someday." She tells me, which takes me by surprise.

"You really think so?" I anxiously asked her. She doesn't speak much but I can tell she's a nice person.

She nodded. "Yeah, I'm stating facts." We reached the library and she bowed again. "Thank you for guiding me here. It was a pleasure to speak with you."

She's really polite... too much. But her expression, all this time has been distant, sad, even angry. She didn't even answer my question directly about liking UA. I can't help but wonder why that is. It's almost like she doesn't want to be here.

I'll ask All Might, maybe he knows...

"No problem! Anytime! Hope we can talk more in the future." I tell her and she smiles but when she thinks I'm not looking she sadly gazes at her hand. Little did I know all the suffering and burdens she carried.

If I had known back then, I would've done something to help her...

~~

Present Time~

Looking back at it now, she kept insisting me to use her first name and never her surname. At first I didn't understand but with what happened with her dad, I see why; she probably hated that name. It was a daily reminder of her suffering.

Today, there was a ceremony held in her name. Many were crying. Kacchan who was usually a strong, temperamental guy was devastated. He didn't cry out in the open but his eyes were swollen –something that was only caused by crying. Todoroki cried silently, tears dripping down his face. The girls were sobbing loudly. I too, couldn't avoid from crying.

When going back to the dorms, we all gathered in the common area. Todoroki and Kacchan, didn't say a word and left to their rooms. Everyone was worried about them. So was I. None of us said it but, we would never be the same without her.

Maybe not everyone but the people that were close to them, like Kacchan, Todoroki, Aizawa, and... me.

I tiredly headed to my room. I sat on my bed as I eyed my hand which carried no scars thanks to (Y/N). I was really going to miss her.

I sighed as I rubbed my eyes. Opening them I caught something strange near one of my All Might figurines.

It was an envelope, and it was addressed to me. I quickly retrieved it and opened it. I gasped when I saw what it had inside. Tears began spilling out of my eyes when I read...

'Dear Izuki the sweetest boy ever,

You brought me hope and a new perspective on heroes, when no one else did. Your joyous and contagious smile are things I adore about you Izuku. I'm grateful to have met you. You were one of the best things that happened to me in UA. I'll never forget how helpful you always were.

You're really going to be a great hero, you'll be just as great as All Might and possibly even better. Shh don't tell him I said that but do tell him I'm sorry for the pain I'm causing you, him, and everyone.

Izu, I mean it, I'm really sorry for all the pain I'm causing you at this moment. Things didn't work out as I hope they had. But, this isn't the end okay, it's only the start to a new chapter, please keep smiling. You did help me a lot even if you think you didn't. You did so much along with Katsu and Sho. I'll miss you so much. Remember to take care and don't go breaking more bones.

Sincerely, [First Name Initial]'

Special/Notes: Midoriya finds it hard to believe that (Y/n) is dead. He refuses to believe it.

The Preview:

Bakugou's POV

My insults towards her had stopped when I saw her breaking, she admitted to not wanting to become a hero. Even that Icyhot bastard stepped in to protect her. It was then when I realized she was in so much pain; that she was bottling everything in her.
