My eye twitched and I wrapped my pillow around my head.
SNOOOORE!
"Kill me." I didn't think he'd be such a loud snorer. I turned my head to glare at him in my sleep deprived state. "Hey..." I whispered, trying to wake him. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Hey!" I whispered louder. Still nothing. I got up and stood right beside him, "HEY!" I basically whisper shouted into his ear. He just kept snoring. I poked him, again and again, harder and harder. Still wouldn't wake up.
I raised a hand and shoved his shoulder roughly. "This little shit..." I glared at him with bloodshot eyes and slowly grabbed my pillow. I raised it above my head before smacking him across the face with it.
'That should've woken him!' I thought with joy as I pulled away the pillow, but my bubble was bursted when I heard him snoring with his mouth open. I wanted to break down and cry.
I heard a soft knock by the door and thought I was seeing things as a figure poked their head inside. "I'm sorry, I should've warned you." Granny Oni whispered and handed me something. "Use these." It was two round cotton balls. She gestured to her ears and I understood.
I plugged them into my ears and nearly bursted out crying from happiness when I couldn't hear him. "Thank you..." I said through tears.
I got back into bed and was finally able to drift off to sleep.

Me, Granny Oni, and Ushi were eating breakfast together while Arataki was sleeping in.
"Yaaawn! Mornin'..." He mumbled sleepily as he entered the room eventually, tiredly scratching his belly and had wicked bed head. Who says yawn instead of yawning?
I glared at him and he looked at me with confusion and sensed hostility radiating from me. "Did I do something...?"

"Take care now. Come back anytime." Granny smiled as we filed out of the house one by one.
"And you," she raised her wrinkly hand and grabbed Arataki's ear. "OW OW OW! Grannyyyy!" He whined and she shushed him, "Come visit more often! You worry me when you stay away for too long!"
He pouted and crossed his arms, "I'll try..." She smiled sweetly once again, "Good. Now go find your friends." She let go and he winced as he held his poor ear.
After we bid farewell to her, we made our way to the 'usual meeting spot'.
"So where are we meeting exactly?" I asked him. "In Byakko Plain." I stopped to look at him. "Byakko? But that's so close to Inazuma, aren't you afraid they'll find us?" I questioned with concern.
He stopped walking and turned to me with his hand on his hip. "We'll be fine! They never patrol that far out and besides, we have a protocol for that sorta thing." He said with a confident grin and folded his arms.
"Which is?" He held up two fingers, "We have two spots, if we think the one is at risk, we go to the other." He said as he wiggled the one. "Seriously..." I deadpanned.
"Okay so we don't actually have a protocol! But it's because, like I said, they never go there so we'll be fine. Have a little faith, Shortie!" He said as he turned around and continued walking.
"Can you believe this guy?" I asked Ushi who was walking beside me the whole time. "Hmph."
