You lied down on your bed while staring at the ceiling of your room, thinking about a lot of things ㅡ about Suguru, Satoru, his mother and your mom. As for Suguru, you felt a bit guilty for treating him like this just because you were jealous of him talking to Dami that night. You started to suspect something between them both. Satoru? You wanted to know the truth behind everything that happened. But, his mother was always in the way.

"Hm." you sat up straight from the bed, frowning to yourself as you made up some theories about Mrs. Gojou. "If only I have something to prove." you let out a sigh.

As far as you could remember, his mother was always acting fishy. Even when she came to your mom's house to ask about the debt, her hand was fishing inside her handbag as if she was holding something and kept glancing at you. You actually noticed it.

And for your mom, you were worried for her safety. You were afraid if Mrs. Gojou harassing her. Even if you tell Satoru about this, would he back you up? Or defend his mother?

Later after having a warm bath, you shuffled towards the balcony to get some fresh air and also to calm your head down from all the judgements you were having about Mrs. Gojou. But, of course, it didn't work. You knew there was something going on.

"Ah, who the hell." you groaned right after you heard someone ringing the doorbell a few times.

Now it's not the time..

The frown you had instantly faded as soon as you saw Kento's face in front of you. Both of you were staring at each other for a moment before he spoke, "Um, am I disturbing you?"

You shook your head in reply, "Not at all. Why? Do you need anything?" this was probably the third time he came to your place ㅡ the first time, he ran out of flour to make bread so he asked if you had any flour. Second, he made too much croquettes and gave you and now this.

"Oh, I was just wondering if you could have dinner with me. Well, a friend of mine supposedly come over to my place to have dinner but he cancelled it last minute." he said. "I couldn't eat all the food by myself."

"I see. Sure, why not?" you flashed a smile.

It was not like both of you haven't had dinner together. But, it was never in his apartment. This is the first time. Also, he would always be the one who asked you to join him.

You stepped foot into his place for the first time and there were a lot of things to admire about his apartment ㅡ everything was tidy and clean, smelled like vanilla, his expensive-looking leather sofa and more!

"Wow, that looks great." you looked at the food neatly arranged on the table. "You made all this?"

"Yes. I'm actually not bad at cooking." he claimed proudly and you couldn't even deny it. "Let's eat," he then passed you a plate, "Here."

Kento and you were quiet at first, but then he started to talk about how he enjoyed cooking because of his mother and he started at the age of 6.

"It's not easy to find men that can cook, you know." you said, before stuffing a shrimp tempura into your mouth.

"I guess?" he chuckled. "How about you? Do you love to cook?"

"I don't love cooking but I can cook." you said, "It's just that I'm lazy sometimes. Don't be like me."

"I'm not planning to." he joked which made you laugh, "Haha, just kidding." then, a message popped in from his phone next to him on the table, which you accidentally peeked at the name of the person.

While Kento was probably replying to the text, you were still frozen, freaking out with your eyebrows furrowed. You swear you saw that name.

"Ah, I forgot to tell you." he placed his phone aside before looking at you, "There's a new bakeryㅡ" he stopped when he saw your face. "Are you alright?"

"Oh, I'm fine!" you let out a feigned laugh and acted like nothing happened, continue stuffing food into your mouth. "Um, what bakery? You didn't finish your sentence."

"Oh, yes. There's a new bakery just opened yesterday nearby. I heard their breads are great. We should try it someday." he innocently said.

"S-Sure, why not?"

After having a conversation for almost an hour which both of you mostly talked about work and hobbies, he stood up from his seat and made his way towards the kitchen sink to place his plate. "Y/n, you don't have to wash the plates. Just put it in the sink and I'll do the rest." he informed.

"Alright." you replied, and when you were about to stand up, his phone rang.

It was his mother.

"Could you lend the phone to me?"

You nodded, grabbing his phone carefully and passed it to him.

"Yes, mother?" he picked up.

There was a moment of silence before you witnessed his face changed into an expression you've never seen before ㅡ his eyes were widened, his mouth was agape, and he unexpectedly reached out his car keys and sprinted out from his apartment... just like that.

What just happened?
