chapter 37 - by my side

Satoru finally came to his office after a week of not working as he had some important meetings to attend, and the first thing he had to see in the morning was Erika, who was already in his office.

"Barging into my office like how you did last time at the hotel?" Satoru said sternly as he walked towards his desk. He didn't even look at her.

"Toru, I just wanna say I'm sorry. I was out of my mind and I didn't realize what I did." she said softly and stood in front of Satoru's desk. "Please forgive me. We can start over."

"What do you mean start over?" he finally looked at her with a frown.

"I mean, we should get to know each other once again. I promise I'll behaveㅡ"

"Erika, please don't ruin my mood." Satoru closed his eyes, and inhaled air deeply. "Kindly get out of my office before I call the guards."

"Satoru, why are you so mean? I'm trying to change here! I don't want to be a burden to you." she begged, "Give me one more chance to prove myself."

"Get. Out." was all Satoru said, but before Erika could say anything, Yuta entered Satoru's office and was shocked to see Erika.

"Eh? Ms. Erika, how did youㅡ Okay, let me escort you out. Boss is not in a good mood right now." Yuta gestured her to follow him but she refused, "Ms. Erika, I'm afraid my Boss here is not delighted to see you. Let's goㅡ"

"I'm going to make sure you'll come begging for me, Satoru." she said and even pointed her finger to him, and then she immediately stomped out of the office.

"How the fuck she knew the passcode to my office?" Satoru sighed and shook his head, "I need to change it."

"I'm really sorry, Boss. I have no idea at all." Yuta bowed his head, "I'll be more careful next time."

"Get her banned from entering this building." Satoru instructed.

"Roger that."

Once Yuta was not around, Satoru massaged his temples and let out a sigh. Just when he was about to start working, his phone rang and this time, his mother called him. He didn't pick up the call at first, but she kept calling him.

"Yes." Satoru lazily said as soon as he picked up the call.

(So, you still remember me? Ungrateful child indeed)

"If you're going to nag, I'm ending the call."

(I don't understand why is it so hard for you to accept Erika)

"Well, why is it so hard for you to understand that I don't have feelings for her. I don't like her at all."

(It's because of Y/n. I'm sure of it. If she's out of the picture, I'm sure you'll be with Erika. Never mind then. You do what you want)

Before Satoru could reply, she abruptly ended the call which left him speechless. He was feeling a bit off with her last words, and it made him worry  for sure. He put his phone aside and tried to focus on his work, but it was difficult. What was she planning to do this time?

"Fucking hell." he stood up from his seat, and called in Yuta into his office.

Not long later, Yuta came. "Yes, Boss. You need me?"
